When our stove gave out in the middle of baking I was frantic! I called the B&H Home Market and spoke with the owners. They were immediately accommodating. My beautiful stove was delivered that day! Their service was beyond my expectations. They went above and beyond and are the true meaning of home town shopping.

  • Bella Brothers Construction Inc
When moving into our home ten years ago, we needed our kitchen enlarged and fully gutted out and remodeled. We knew right away we were going to have Bella Brothers complete our project as we had always heard wonderful references from friends and family. Since that time, they not only completed our large kitchen, they put in a new deck, fully enlarged bathroom, powder room, and installed all new doors, windows, and siding. Not to mention all odd and end projects I was able to come up with. We were always more than happy with their work and the cost of our projects. When it was time to update our kitchen, we knew immediately we would call on Bella Brothers. When Tom came for our estimate, he was fully prepared to show us endless amounts of tile, counter tops, flooring, and also helped us to choose our appliances. He also offered us the opportunity to go into his showroom if he did not have something that we could decide on that night. The carpenters showed up three weeks later, as scheduled. They were very punctual throughout and always made sure to clean up entire work area each night before they left. All the work was completed on time, as planned. The color choices and design in flooring, tile, granite counter tops, and appliances - suggested by Tom - complimented our cabinets/walls/windows. Eric, the project manager stopped by daily to check on progress and to see that we were comfortable with everything. We are very pleased with all the work that Bella Brothers performed at our home and we look forward to finding a new project.

Our kitchen was outdated, dark and cramped, and the fridge was too far away from the stove and sink for a good workflow. Aside from updating the cabinets and countertops and adding a hood and backsplash, we were looking to open up the kitchen/dining room wall to increase the space, move the fridge, and also enlarge the window over the sink to let in more natural light. After an initial search on Angie?s List, we contacted three companies. We had a budget in mind of about $40k, and we wanted to see if that could get us all of the structural changes that we wanted. The first company asked us our budget right away on the phone and said they wouldn?t come out to give us an estimate unless we were willing to pay $50-60k. The second company asked our budget on the phone and said they could work with that, then they came out to take measurements and hear our requests. They came back with an estimate of $52k for a design that only updated the cabinets and countertops but had a footprint that was about the same; we wouldn?t get more open space and natural light like we wanted. Then we contacted Bella Brothers. Right away we liked that they didn?t ask us our budget. They said they like to take measurements and discuss what we wanted first, then they would come back with an estimate, and if it was in line with our expectations, we could move forward into a more detailed design. They didn?t want to cut corners on their design just to try to fit into an initial budget. Tom and Arsan came to our house one evening when my husband and I were both home from work. We liked how they interacted and could see that they worked well together. We could also tell from their questions and suggestions that they really knew what they were talking about. Tom took measurements and Arsan did some sketches and notes while they asked us what we were looking to do with the project. We felt like they really listened to us and stayed long enough to get a good idea of what we wanted. After that meeting they came back with an initial project scope and an estimate of $43-47k. It was close enough to our budget and sounded like it had what we were looking for, so we set up a meeting with them that week in their showroom to see the design details. When we saw the design we loved it; they were able to move the wall and give us a relocated and larger passage into the dining room plus a larger window over the sink within that budget. We chose cabinets, tops, backsplash, sink, faucet, and drawer pulls at that meeting (so make sure you?ve done your research on colors and materials beforehand like we had or you may feel this part is rushed). Arsan listened to what we wanted and when his ideas differed from ours, he balanced well between going along with our choices in some cases, and in other cases pushing back when he had a strong opinion (and in all of those cases he turned out to be right). We signed with them at that meeting. We ended up choosing a higher quality cabinet than the lowest end of our budget so we settled on a price of about $45.5k (not including appliances). Work started about a month later. Demo was done in a day, and the job moved steadily forward; at the end of each day we were amazed at how much was accomplished. Brad was a conscientious foreman; he worked steadily and efficiently while keeping an eye on quality and making sure to clean up at the end of the day. Eric managed the project smoothly, coordinating the scheduling of carpenters, plumbers, electricians, flooring, and painters to fill the days and keep the project moving forward. Even things we thought would be difficult seemed to go without a hitch: the wall was moved, including relocating ductwork and electrical wires and installing a support beam, to give us the extra space we wanted. The subcontractors were all very professional as well. We were especially impressed with the floor work; the subcontractor was very conscientious and clearly wanted to do the job right. One day while we were away, he and his crew sanded the floor and started staining with the color we had chosen, but he didn't like how the color was turning out. He stopped the job until we came home, to show us how it was going, and we agreed that the color was not looking the same as it had in the sales brochure for that stain. He offered to re-sand that part and stain in a different color (one that he chose that he thought was closer to what we wanted), and it came out much better. We think the finished kitchen is beautiful and the quality we got for this price is incredible. The new design is more open and the workflow is much more efficient, and now we love cooking in this space. We particularly like the breezeway to the dining room; it?s a really unique feature with the open shelves, and it looks great. When we redo our bathrooms in the future we will definitely call Bella Brothers!

  • BigCentric Appliances
Wow. BigCentric was so good. I was a little stunned, because I'd just had such a disappointing experience with a big box store. First, they had a stove quickly available that all the other stores said wouldn't be available for a month or two. Then, their communication was fantastic... very very quick and personal. They called right away after I ordered online, to discuss delivery times and installation. The delivery and installation together added only $40 to the total cost, and there were no hidden fees or sudden needs for extra parts and all the other nonsense you run into with most stores. They delivered two days after I placed the order. The installer was friendly, good about his mask and distancing (in this covid time), very quick, and all-around great. And the price of the stove was the same as anywhere else...only less because of the lack of hidden fees. I will DEFINITELY buy my appliances here from now on. It was the smoothest such purchase I've ever made. It also feels good to support a local business instead of a huge multinational corporation!

Have been buying from Phils for many years. I have never had problems with their used appliances. Have had refrigerator, freezer and dryer repaired. I just bought a Kenmore washer yesterday. Their staff has always been courteous and punctual. My appliances bought from Phils have alwats lasted for.. years. I no longer buy new anymore my last washing machine from Phils lasted 6 years and a repair was about $60.00 dollars and it lasted about 3 more years. Not bad for a used whirlpool machine that cost $150.00. My friend told me about Phils many years ago because their entire family buys from Phils and have had no problems.

Excellent Service! We contacted and hired Schoeller's Inc after a family member recommended them to us. We needed our central air / heating system inspected, cleaned and maintenanced. Mike came out and did and outstanding job, and also explained how our central air and heating worked and functioned best, as well as changing our filters ( we're handicapped.) He was very knowledgeable and patient, and answered all our questions. We're going to have them come back for our yearly maintenance and inspection. I highly recommend Schoeller's Inc, which is a family owned and operated company.

AVOID THIS APPLIANCE SALES AND REPAIR COMPANY. We have been using Gerhards for 20 years in the hope that their service might improve over time. It never did. Our last experience was the worst. No more. On the POSITIVE side: they have an attractive showroom in Ardmore; they stock a broad range of moderate to high-end appliances; they consistently offer competitive prices. NEGATIVES: consistently terrible order fulfillment; variable, often marginal or unsatisfactory appliance repair provided by a cadre of independent contractors who turn over continuously. Most recently we, purchased several kitchen appliances for a major renovation of our kitchen. To assure timely delivery, we paid in full at the time we ordered with the understanding that whey would acquire our appliances and hold on to them until work began on our renovation. When the time came, we were told they were all on backorder. On further inquiry, we learned that they had never been acquired or had been sold to other customers in the interim. We had to settle for substitutes. Then we had to nag them repeatedly, not just by phone, but also by visiting the store, to acquire the appliances and to overcome terrible in-house communication over the date and location for delivery. Once we finally obtained our appliances, they called to advise that another was about to be delivered. Not ours--ordered instead by a neighbor, and they said our other appliances were others on backorder. We have accepted extra allowances for COVID, but this experience was representative of previous experience. Truthful about the appliances but recurrently not about their service. They desperately need modern order-fulfillment software and employees who take responsibility for orders. Meanwhile, I recommend that purchasers select appliances in the showroom and then order online. Not good for preserving neighborhood businesses, but necessary for peace of mind in the case of Gerhards.

It was a terrible experience from start to finish. Gerhard’s sold us a Miele dishwasher that took forever to arrive, wasn’t installed correctly, and after a few weeks wouldn’t drain. Their response was to call Miele and it wasn’t their problem. I’ve never in my life experienced such terrible customer service and will share as many bad reviews as I can to warn people to shop elsewhere. Terrible customer service!

  • Simply The Best Kitchen & Bath, LLC
We Interviewed several contractors and felt very comfortable with Jon from the start. I'm quite sure he could follow whatever orders you were to give for a redesign, but for us the extra value was that he assisted in designing in all phases, meaning he was happy to make suggestions on layout, style, colors, brands, etc.when we needed or asked for them. Jon made himself available to fit our work schedules, and suggested we meet nights, weekends, whenever necessary at cabinet place, tile/granite distributors, even Lowe's if we wanted him to help select all the little and big things that needed to go into our new rooms. The whole work crew was a pleasure to have in the house, they had no problems with our dog, and we had no hesitation trusting them working in our home while we went away on vacations. The work looks great. We already plan to have some additional work done in the near future, since next to our kitchen and baths, we feel like half the house doesn't measure up! The 'b' grade for punctuality might even be a little bit unfair on my part, since as mentioned, we asked to have several additional areas worked on beyond our original agreement. Overall we are totally pleased with the job that's been done in our home, and we recommend Jon and More than a Handyman without reservation.
