Appliance Sale
I gave the store a 2 star rating because overall I like Lowes. However, if you are making a major purchase it was difficult to get help and once purchased almost impossible to get help. Phone calls were not returned. Deliver was only scheduled by the delivery contact with no way to reach them. Scheduling was generally 2 weeks out and windows for the delivery time were 12 hours without any input from purchase. Ended up canceling the order.

We've been happy with them. It's a typical big box store, Overall a B. Punctuality on delivery they were definitely good about that. On professionalism, I would give them a B some people knew they're stuff better than others. I just think that its a typical big box store maybe it would be better to have more qualified people but you have to pay them so.

Carpet Installation, Flooring
I paid $35 for a service person to come and measure for flooring. That was the only part that went right. I was told that in a few days time after the measurements were submitted someone would call to discuss my project. That was 7/14 and it's now 8/9! Is it too much to expect prompt responses?! I'm sick of chasing people down. I shouldn't have to?! I paid you $35 to measure and start my project. I want my money back! If Lowes respected me as a potential client then you would have followed through and taken that next step. I paid you, to have me drop my busy schedule to chase you down! #fail

It turned out wonderful. I've had it for 9 years now, and not even a scratch on it. They sent someone out here and he did the job while I was at work and it went wonderfully. The whole process took about 2 weeks. Except the material they used isn't something that's available anymore, so it'll be hard to get any repairs made. The communication went fine. He did it all in one day.

Door Service
Very good! I had a problem when they first put it in, and he came back and fixed it. He did a very good job. He was neat, seem very thinkable. He did not have any problem, after a week, I noticed something that the door was ticking. And then I called him and came back and fixed it. I have not had any problem since. It is a very good work.

My experience with them was a little convoluted. It was not an easy checkout. We had to have the grill department come and help the people at the cashier line, but then they delivered the wrong product. We got the wrong color so now we had to wait for them to come pick that up and deliver the right one. I'm still waiting for it to be rectified and I haven't seen anything change as of today, but they returned my call.

Carpet Installation
Estimator arrived on time and provided detailed information about what was needed and how much it would cost. We ordered the carpet and were told it would take 1-2 weeks to be delivered, and that we'd be contacted when it arrived to schedule installation. We were contacted as promised, and installation was scheduled a few days later. Installers showed up on time, and worked for about 6 hours straight. They were contractors to Lowes, but did and excellent, professional job. A Lowes employee came near the end of the installation to check on progress, and make sure we were satisfied. Overall, it was a great experience, and we are very happy with the new carpet and the installation.

Carpet Installation
They were very efficient. They installed all the carpeting in one day because we were scheduled to move in the next day. The person in charge of the carpet department was always in contact with me. There was a snow storm which caused the carpeting to be delivered late and he was always in touch with me to let me know what was going on. The carpeting turned out beautiful. I would definitely recommend them to others.

The sales person at the Lowe's in Oakes was excellent, answered all of our questions about the special-order laminate floor we picked out, and arranged for the subcontractor to come out to do the measurements.
The measurer was professional and had no issues dealing with the fact that our house was chaos - dogs barking, a different salesman cleaning up his window pitch. She asked us pointed questions to make sure she understood the job and we got exactly what we needed.
The store contacted us with the quote, and we purchased the package.
We were having windows installed from Lowe's as well, and the flooring department had no issues or qualms about the fact that I wanted the windows installed first (something their contractor had recommended), so helpfully rescheduled the laminate floor delivery when the flooring was surprisingly ready before the windows.
When the laminate was delivered, a busybody from our condo association started yelling at the delivery man because he thought we were installing an unapproved porch, but the delivery man kept his cool and professionalism and we were able to resolve the issues (mostly by us yelling at the condo association guy).
On installation day, the team was out on time, and immediately began work. They were friendly without being intrusive and down-to-business. They had the carpet and padding torn out faster than I expected and by the end of the day had a third of the laminate in place as well as the padding and new tackstrip for the carpet. The house was a little more dangerous than we'd expected but otherwise looked good. There was no debris in the yard.
The team was on time the 2nd day, completed the installation of the flooring, installed all the necessary baseboard and trim at doorways, cleaned up the house, and vacuumed the carpet.
My only regrets are minor. There was a little more confusion on when the floors would be delivered and the installation take place than I would've liked ideally, but Lowe's ensured that when there was an issue they called and clarified what was going on before sending anyone out with deliveries we weren't ready for. It was very hot the day they did the tear-out but I left the air conditioning running for the workmen's benefit, which resulted in dust getting sucked all over my house, and they did occasionally leave the front door open longer than I'd have preferred. (I wish I would have shut the AC off and opened all the windows until tear-out was finished. I was very glad that I sent my dogs to boarding overnight because they could've gotten hurt the first night and the condition the house was in wasn't clearly outlined in advance.
The floors are gorgeous. I've installed laminate before (in the upstairs bedrooms) and there's no way I could have done as high a quality job, much less in two days. I was very happy with Lowe's proactive approach to preventing problems and catching them as soon as they occurred. The contractors were professional and effective and efficient. I couldn't ask for more.

Door Service, Window Service
After receiving 3 quotes for this job from manufactures, each quote taking over an hour and yielding a dollar amount that was generally much higher than we'd expected to pay, we took the recommendation of neighbors and visited our local Lowe's, in Oaks PA. Based on their website and the display windows, I expected that we would have to replace our windows will wood Pella windows (a great brand, but wood is much more expensive than vinyl) because the condo association requires the external window facing to be a chocolate/bronze color.
The millwork department staff members were friendly and explained the process. Their salesman called me less than 2 hours after I left the store, on a busy Friday, and was able to come out to give us a quote the next day. We had been so conditioned to the hour long dog-and-pony show the other window salesmen had given us that the fact that the quote took less than 20 minutes was almost off-putting at first, because the other salesmen had brainwashed us into thinking it was important to know how much argon was in the windows, how many hard/soft coats of E coating were on the glass, and other inane details they were using to push the superiority of their windows. On the other hand, we were greeted with the nice surprise that Lowe's ReliaBuilt windows, a rebranding of Atrium windows, were available in chocolate. The fact that we could get vinyl windows from Lowe's for literally half the money that most other companies had quoted us was like having a huge weight taken off our shoulders.
We purchased four windows (two sets of two) and a 3-pane sliding door.
A gentleman from the subcontractor doing the installation came out and re-measured the spaces to ensure the windows would be manufactured to the right sizes. The measuring took about five minutes.
The crew ran a little late the day of an installation because the previous day's installation ran into a snag. To speed the process along the project manager drove our new windows and door out to the house himself so his crew wouldn't lose time picking up the windows from the store. The crew worked very well with my fussy condo association's requests on protecting the lawn. They tore out my 35-year-old sliding door and windows, installed the new ones, and cleaned all of the windows fast enough to be finished by 5:30pm despite their unexpected late start. They cleaned up my home and my yard as they went, so there was little mess at any given time.
When finished, the crew lead walked through using the windows and confirmed that everything looked and behaved the way we expected.
We could immediately feel the difference in our new home - the upstairs stays cooler, and the downstairs temperatures are much more even. There are no leaks or issues with the windows, and they look gorgeous.
I was so happy with this work I immediately booked other repairs to our home through Lowe's, and recommend them to all of my neighbors.

The carpet over the past year has began to seriously buckle and Lowe's refuses to correct the work. When asked if they stand by their product they replied yes; however, they will not correct our issue because the one year warranty is up. Seeing that carpeting is something that is installed with the expectation that it will be durable this is not acceptable, nor is it an example of standing by their work. They did mention that they still carry the carpet should we want to buy more...are they nuts? We will be writing to the corporate office to file an official complaint.

I FILLED OUT THE PAPERWORK FOR AN ESTIMATE, PUT DOWN A $30 DEPOSIT TO BE REFUNDED WHEN THE FLOOR WAS ORDERED, AND WAS TOLD SOMEONE WOULD CONTACT ME TO COME OUT AND MEASURE. AFTER NEARLY A WEEK, I PHONED AND WAS GIVEN THE RUNAROUND ("WE CAN'T FIND YOUR FILE") AND THEN AFTER 5 CALLS TO DIFFERENT PEOPLE (THE MANAGER WAS ALWAYS IN A MEETING) I WAS TOLD THEIR SUB-CONTRACTOR QUIT. SO THEY ASSIGNED ME TO A NEW GUY WHO KEPT LEAVING MESSAGES ON MY MACHINE WITHOUT RESPONDING TO THE ONES I LEFT ON HIS. I CALLED LOWES BACK. THEY CALLED HIM TO SET UP AN APPOINTMENT, WE AGREED ON A TIME AND HE NEVER SHOWED. SO 3 WEEKS AFTER THE INITIAL ORDER, I WENT IN AND TALKED TO THE STORE MANAGER WHO APOLOGIZED AND SAID HE COULD GET THE WORK DONE RIGHT AWAY BUT I DECLINED. WHO WANTS WORK DONE BY PEOPLE WHO CAN'T EVEN ORGANIZE THEIR ESTIMATING APPOINTMENTS? HE REFUNDED MY DEPOSIT. THEY NEED TO RE-THINK THEIR INSTALLATION PRACTICES.

THE FIRST NEW DRYER DELIVERED WAS DAMAGED WHEN THE INSTALLED OVERTIGHTENED THE WIRING CONNECTION OF THE DRYER'S TERMINAL BOX, RESULTING IN THE SCREW BREAKING OFF. SO I CALLED THE LOWE'S APPLIANCE SALESMAN, STACY, AND HE ORDERED A REPLACEMENT THAT DAY, WHICH WAS GREAT. THEY CAME AND RE-ATTACHED A NEW WIRE AND VENT TO THE REPLACEMENT DRYER. HOWEVER, THREE WEEKS LATER, THE DRYER SPARKED WHEN I PLUGGED IT IN, TRIPPING THE CIRCUIT BREAKER. I CALLED AN ELECTRICIAN TO CHECK OUT ANY DAMAGE TO THE OUTLET (NONE). HE REMOVED THE DRYER TERMINAL PANEL AND TOLD ME THE SCREW HAD BEEN UNDERTIGHTENED, DANGEROUSLY OVERHEATED, AND BLEW THE CIRCUIT. HE SAID TO CONTACT LOWE'S FOR A REFUND OF HIS SERVICES AND A FULL REPLACEMENT. I CALLED STACY AT LOWE'S AND HE READILY AGREED TO REPLACE IT AGAIN AND CREDIT THE ELECTRICIAN'S CHARGE. THESE INSTALLERS NEED TO BE BETTER-TRAINED ON THE WIRING END BECAUSE THESE APPLIANCES, FOR SOME REASON, DO NOT COME WITH WIRES ATTACHED. VERY FRUSTRATING.
