"The estimator came two days after I called, which was sooner than any other service I called. Gave me a price and said they were booked three weeks out. Gave them a 30% deposit to seal the deal. The crew arrived two weeks later. All five trees were taken down in 2 hours. The tallest, approximately 100 feet, required a boom truck. After taking the trees down and grinding all the branches, they raked the yard clean. All that is left are the 16 foot tree trunk logs, which are neatly piled in the back yard. Still waiting for the second crew to come and remove the logs. They have not billed me for the remainder of the price, which I assume will be done after the logs are taken away. Overall very happy with the job."

"We had an urgent job with a large broken tree branch in our front yard. We also had 3 tree stumps requiring removal, but we delayed removal because of fear the equipment would damage our lawn. Blue Cord has light equipment that removed the stumps without damaging our ground. Highly satisfied with the end results."

"Excellent experience from start to finish. The owner came out within an hour of my call to provide an estimate and offered a very reasonable price. After comparing quotes, I chose his company and was pleasantly surprised when he returned same day to complete the work. He worked quickly to safely remove a very large limb that was partially detached and was laying across my neighbor’s property. Clean up was thorough afterward. Great service, fair pricing and outstanding responsiveness. I would definitely hire 7Up Tree service again and highly recommend to others."

"Reyes Lawn and Tree Services provided quality work for my lawn care. They also removed weeds around the flower beds and lawn perimeter leaving a well maintained view upon completion. I would highly recommend their services. They are punctual and provide everything needed to keep my lawn looking well maintained. They even recommended what trees on my property need branches to be taken down to restore the health of the tree. Great service and highly recommend!"

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Yes, cutting a tree's roots can cause it to fall, particularly if major support roots are severed. In extreme cases, trimming roots can affect the tree's structure and stability. Many crucial roots are located just below the soil's surface. If you make severe cuts to roots more than 2 inches in diameter, you risk impacting the tree's water flow and its ability to withstand severe winds or storms. Even cutting roots less than half an inch in diameter under or outside the tree's canopy can cut off its water supply, causing it to decline, die, and eventually topple.

Usually, trees cannot grow back after their stump has been ground, but some very hearty types of trees can. For example, if you have a black locust or Redford pear, the grinding will need to go deep to prevent them from growing back. Ask your tree service or stump removal expert whether your tree can resprout after its stump is ground down.

A palm tree's lifespan typically ranges from 40 to 100 years, though some species can live much longer. For example, certain types of Date Palm trees can live for over 200 years. The exact longevity of a palm tree is influenced by several factors, including its species, size, climate, and growing conditions. To maximize your palm's lifespan, provide proper care and maintenance, such as ensuring it gets enough sunlight, water, and nutrients, and protecting it from pests and diseases. For expert maintenance tips, consider consulting a professional arborist.

For trimming trees, your best tool is a pair of pruning shears or loppers. Both options work best for branches that are under 3 inches in diameter. Trimming trees with a larger diameter may require a robust tool like a small chainsaw or a handsaw, so take into account your tree’s diameter when deciding between tools.

Completely topping a plum tree is a risky business. Cut too much, and you’ll kill your tree. That said, you do need to trim the top of your tree to encourage bushy growth, maintain your tree’s vase shape, and limit size.

A plum tree's central leader (or trunk) should never extend more than 3 feet above the highest branch. When you first plant your tree, cut the central leader so it’s 2 to 3 feet tall. As it grows, cut it back 12 to 20 inches until it reaches its desired height. Never prune more than one-third of the new growth.
