"Sometimes contractors disappoint. From not returning calls, to shoddy/hurried workmanship and unfinished projects, too often bad apples give the industry a bad reputation. You never know what to expect. All-Phase Construction, recommended by a friend, is the opposite. From initial contact to project completion All-Phase performed in a professional manner throughout. Joe and his team of skilled carpenters are talented, experienced, neat, and conscientious. As Russel (carpenter) put it, “if you’re not happy, we’re not happy”. Our project scope included new oak flooring in dining room/foyer/hallways, new baseboards, new oak stairway to 2nd floor, and a powder room makeover including hardwood floor, drywall, plumbing & fixtures. All-Phase also handled painting of the foyer, 2 hallways, the stairway and powder room. The few subcontractors working for All Phase (plumbing, painting, drywall,) performed to the same high standards as Joe’s direct team. All in all we were delighted with the results of our project and would not hesitate to recommend All Phase to friends and family."

"Bob and his colleague were detail-oriented, thorough and professional throughout the time they were in my home. They were cognizant of another obligation I had later that day and worked efficiently, but accurately to get the job done and done right. I would highly recommend Robert Horne Contracting!"

"I would give Phil a 20 star rating. He gave me a brand new kitchen. Put flooring in my living room. Excellent work. I have some more that needs to be done and Phil's the one. He suggests things. Makes it look really nice."

"Bill Staniscia was responsive, professional, and performed quality work. He had to remove bushes and a cracked sidewalk. He is studded out the frame for the larger sidewalk to the house. He laid stone for the foundation and his son tamped it. Then they poured the cement. I love it!!. It is beautiful and makes the curb appeal better. Thank you, Bill!"

"Dan and his son are an absolute dream come true and no one in our family will ever hire somebody else. Are basement was completely unfinished, and in fact had a lot of our junk all over, and Dan was able to listen carefully to our ideas and thoughtfully make recommendations as to what would work best. The end result is honestly so much better than we ever imagined. Our kids now spend a lot of time in the basement playing games and making memories. We could not be happier with our decision to trust Dan, and in fact we miss seeing him like we did during the project! After finishing our basement, all of our friends asked who was able to do such a good job, and subsequently we've referred Dan and his son to our in-laws and also our good friends for major projects. Look no further, this is the team you are trying to find!"

"Crawford Construction was absolutely amazing with their work. Jesse and his team worked hard to get the work done fast. I was very pleased with the quality of my roof once it was finished. This is one local business that I plan to support over and over again."

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

Dekton is worth the money for homeowners who want a nonporous countertop that resists heat, stains, water, scratches, and UV damage. It comes in a wide array of colors and patterns at various price points to suit different renovation budgets. Dekton is not worth the cost for homeowners who are particularly worried about chipping or cracking.

Mid-century modern architecture was a popular home style throughout the U.S. from the 1950s to 1970s. Most homes feature a wide and symmetrical floor plan with low-sloped roofs and floor-to-ceiling windows. Its minimalism and balanced appearance are back on the home style scene, particularly when maximizing sunlight, airflow, and a blend with the home's natural surroundings.

Most Greek Revival architecture homes are one and a half to two stories, depending on the footprint, which sets them apart from some Federal architecture homes that are three stories. The gabled roof on the second floor can sometimes cut into the living space, especially on smaller homes of this style, which leaves a much smaller living area upstairs.

Italianate architecture is a reinterpretation of Renaissance styles, combining elements of Italian farmhouses and villas with Victorian materials and construction. This home style emerged in the Victorian era, gaining popularity in the U.S. in the mid-to late-1800s. The style came about in response to what many then viewed as the too-rigid and stuffy Classical style designs.

Buying a house is easier than building one from scratch. Buying an existing home is almost always faster, even if you need to make renovations once you move in. When you hire the right team to build a home, they will simplify the design and build phases so that there is little guesswork throughout the process, but building new construction will almost always take longer than buying an existing home.
