"Chris did an incredible job with adding a laundry room, closet, and painting my entire first floor. He did a wonderful job keeping everything clean and spent the extra time making sure everything was perfect. I personally will never go to anyone else to do the work in my house. Thank you Dean and Courtney for picking the perfect person to come into my home!"

We are a family owned/operated business satisfying our customers in the Lehigh Valley and surrounding areas since 1984. We are a small business with usually less than 4 employees. We do not use sub-contractors. We require a deposit the day we start the job (we never ask for money up front before we start unless special materials must be ordered). On lengthy jobs we require 1/3 on starting day, 1/3 half way through the job, and 1/3 upon completion/your satisfaction. On shorter jobs: 1/2 down the day we start and 1/2 upon completion/your satisfaction of said job. We do not offer financing. I am the owner/operator and I am on every job doing the work. Registered PA Home Improvement Contractor # PA011224 We have a reputation for working VERY clean, we go to great lengths to do a clean, professional job each and every time.

Unfinished Carpentry questions, answered by experts

By careful planning and reinforcement to maintain structural integrity.

Learning how to frame a house includes picking the right lumber for the job. Most people will want to pick pine, spruce, or fir for the framing. These types of lumber are affordable and produce sturdy framing for structures. Look for kiln-dried lumber to reduce the risk of shrinkage or insect damage after installation. As part of what’s included in framing a house when you hire a professional, the contractor should order the lumber, so you don’t have to worry about finding the right lumber.

If you’re considering buying a home with known termite damage, you can negotiate with the seller to lower the costs of the house. They might be able to make the damage repairs before handing over the keys or lower the asking price before the deal is agreed upon. It’s vital though that even if you’re winning the negotiation, a home inspection contingency might be a good idea in case of future issues.

Accurate measurements, sturdy materials, and seamless integration with other structures.

No, beams are the primary load-bearers for flooring or roofing systems, and they distribute the weight of the structure to your foundational supports, while joists bear far less weight and distribute their loads to the beams. Beams are usually thicker and longer, and they have support posts or foundation walls beneath them for support.
