I have done a wide variety of construction and carpentry work in the past 20 years. I have done extensive framing and finish work, roofing, siding, windows, decks, flooring, etc. I have many happy customers and I’m always honest and accurate with my work and my pricing. Not job is too small.

"A+ went above and beyond, was personable and professional. High quality work and didn’t overcharge."

"Thomas was terrific. We were preparing to sell our house, and Thomas suggested several improvements that he could make that would increase the appeal of the house. He carried out an ambitious program over 3 weeks. The difference was dramatic, and we received multiple offers for considerably more money than we initially projected. The house was on the market less than a week, and I credit Thomas' work for both the increased price and speed of sale."

Hexafoos is dedicated to providing hands on service for your home or real estate investments. Whether you're expanding your dream home or caring for rental properties, our goal is to be there for you every step of the way.

"While we were waiting for doors to arrive, Colin repaired several cracks in the brick mortar on the front of the house which I had noticed a few years ago. That job was done quickly and it looks real good. When the doors arrived (Lowes had a large backlog) Colin, along with his employee, got the doors prepped and painted. Any small issues that came up were quickly resolved and the doors look great and, most importantly, they hang and close nicely. Colin pays close attention to detail and makes sure that the job is done correctly as though the job was being done in his own home. The best recommendation I can give is would I hire Hexafoos again and would I recommend them. The answer to both questions is yes."

Unfinished Carpentry questions, answered by experts

The primary parts of a house that need framing during construction are floors, exterior walls, interior walls, and the roof. The framing in these areas provides the skeleton for adding other materials over the top. With walls, for example, contractors can hang drywall over the interior walls and siding over the outside of the exterior walls. Proper framing ensures a sturdy house that is built to last.

House framing can be expensive because the materials are pricey, and the job requires a high level of expertise. The more complex the plans, the more expensive the job, but even the most basic frame needs to be installed with high-quality materials and precision. When pricing your home’s framework, remember that a sturdy frame is necessary to create a safe structure.

Generally completed within a couple of hours, depending on damage extent.

Rotting wood, frame misalignment, or damaged seals often require attention.

There are approximately 5.33 board feet in a 2x4. You can use the board foot calculator in this article to easily find the answer. A 2x4 is 2 inches of thickness by 4 inches of width, so you need to find the length, with 8 feet being the most common. You’d use the calculator here to multiply 2 times 4 times 8, and then divide by 12, arriving at a total of 5.33 board feet.
