Welcome to FUNCY DECOR! You are about to embark on an exciting decor journey. My name is Heather Semke and I am here to partner with you to reimagine your space(s) and optimize the FUN and FUNCtion! I work with any size budget. If you do not need structural work, architectural blueprints for additions/new builds, hiring an interior decorator like me costs you less and has the same impact! I have 15 years of interior decorating experience. I am a new owner-operated business but seasoned! I offer decor consults, decor shopping options, and final space decorating/repurposing. I am as involved as you want or need me to be!

"Working with Heather from was an all-around wonderful experience. With a quick consultation she identified the style we were looking for and provided us with a few alternatives to fill in our new space within our budget. Not only did she simplify the overwhelming process of curating a cohesive look across a few rooms of our space, but she provided all the information we needed to easily order all of the furniture and decorative items we needed. In a few weeks we went from a nearly blank slate to a place that feels like home! Once our space was nearly complete, Heather also helped us quickly fill in a few small gaps that were outside our original scope. From my experience, I can recommend working with Funcy Decor for any size project, and while we targeted a style somewhere between modern industrial and contemporary, it was apparent that Heather's breadth of knowledge and taste would lend itself to any project. Thanks again, Heather!"

We were founded in 1996. We currently have seven employees we do a lot of subcontracting work we offer a variety of billing options we do financing we also do monthly payments up to 12 months zero interest

"It started out pretty good. But progressively got worse. The lower level cabinets were not level so the people who put in the countertop had to put a lot of shims in to make things work. Fuget’s Contracting workers did not show up on time. They would say 10am and show up close to 3pm. This happened more times than once. They have no respect for people’s time or their own. I stupidly paid them in full what i thought was the next to last day of work, and they never came back to finish the job. Plumbing is faulty and the sink leaks; Dishwasher is not put in properly; part of the back splash, unfinished. Drawer pulls put in upside down. I now have to hire someone else to finish the job."

"I agree with everything that everyone said. I had an awful experience. I know it's a 2-way street but the workmanship, delays and dishonesty was terrible. He ended up taking me to court but I finally decided to cut my losses. I would never recommend him and his company to anyone."

Heavy amounts of snow could be a problem. In many climates, lots of snow on your rooftop can lead to freeze-thaw cycle that create ice dams, which can damage rooftops. But if you’re using shingle clips, this snow poses an additional problem: As it melts and freezes, it can easily dislodge clips you’ve placed on your roof.

You can clean snow off your roof after a fresh snowfall while it’s still lightweight, but brushing off snow can also dislodge your clips. If you get a lot of snow, then roof clips become less viable.

If you hire a pro, the cost to hang Christmas lights is typically somewhere between $1.25 and $3 per square foot, excluding the cost of the lights. Homeowners spend an average of $420 per job, but some jobs can cost more than $1,000 if they’re extensive.

Decorators often prefer artificial Christmas trees. They’re easier to handle and shape, and decorators don’t have to worry about bugs or allergies. It’s also an ideal choice because artificial trees keep up appearances without owners needing to schedule watering.

However, always confirm that decorators are ready to unbox and set up the artificial tree. If they don’t include tree set-up in their services, you may need to hire a general handyperson for that task.

In the Christmas days of yore, people braved winter weather to staple or tack their Christmas lights onto their rooftops or nearby surfaces like the fascia boards. Problems quickly emerged with that approach. Damage to the roof, even small marks from staples, provides entryways for moisture and similar issues that can hasten roof rot, wear, and associated leaks. Plus, some homes had tough fiber cement boards or other materials where staples and screws didn’t work.

Yes, tackling blown fuses and broken light bulbs is definitely safe. Fixing the wiring on a strand of Christmas lights isn’t a good idea, though, because of the danger of shock and fire. However, if you don’t feel comfortable working with any type of electricity, consider hiring a professional Christmas light installer to manage the job safely and efficiently.
