"I am very unsatisfied with my experience. I called the office to talk about my projects and get a quote on the jobs that I needed completed. We discussed all three jobs. The office said this would take a day and quoted me a price. They charged me money to hold my appointment date. A month went by, I had to call the office the day before the appointment to make sure that someone was still going to be arriving the next day. The appointment was scheduled to start at 8:00 am. The handyman came to my house at 12:45. He looked at the jobs that were to be completed and said that he could only finish one of them and asked which of the three I would like him to do. He went out to buy materials and returned back to my house sometime around 3:00. He never even fully finished one of the jobs. He left my house at 5:30 and I was charged over $1000. I was also charged for a gallon of paint that he never even used because the job was never completed. I asked if someone would be calling to schedule the work to be finished. He assured me that someone would be calling. No one ever called or returned."

Peach trees grow to be about 25 feet, so keep this in mind for pruning as well. If you plan to DIY, you’ll need to be comfortable working on a ladder. It’s usually best to transplant a tree when it’s dormant. For some, the best option is transplanting during fall after the leaves have fallen—October or November. In other cases, it’s best to transplant before new growth begins in the spring, often around March. If executed correctly your tree should survive after being transplanted to a new spot. You’ll also need an appropriately sized root ball for a complete tree transplant. A good rule of thumb is that, for every inch in diameter, your tree’s root ball needs to be around 11 inches. So a tree with a diameter of six inches needs a root ball of approximately 66 inches.

Licensing requirements for arborists vary by state and municipality, so you should use Angi’s contractor licensing tool to see if your arborist needs a license. Even if an arborist license isn’t mandated in your area, it’s a good idea to hire one that has at least a business license, business insurance, and certification from a third-party organization, like the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) or the Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA). Licensed arborists tend to have more experience and are more likely to provide a professional solution to your tree problem.
