"Joe Cardinalli is a master handyman. His skills go way beyond the traditional **handyman** level while his labor rate is comparable to less qualified individuals in the same category. I recommend Joe without reservation. During the restoration of a small condominium that had been a rental for more than 20 years, he: â ¢repaired a cracked ceiling joist by jacking it up and scabbing a new joist for the full span â ¢replaced/patched large sections of ceiling sheetrock â ¢removed â popcornâ and re-textured ceilings â ¢repaired and textured multiple holes and other damage to walls â ¢primed and painted walls and ceilings â ¢relocated, rewired, and added multiple wall outlets. switches and light fixtures â ¢modified plumbing to accommodate clothes and dishwashers â ¢repaired outside faucet â ¢hung full complement of kitchen cabinets â ¢replaced aluminum sash and installed new vinyl windows â ¢replaced hollow core with ore-hung solid core doors â ¢used me as his helper to avoid bringing in additional paid laborers â ¢was fastidious and cleaned the area prior to leaving for the day The work was performed over a period of about four months and he worked on other jobs while waiting for materials and appliances to be delivered. He kept me well informed about his work schedule and availability. Joe is the complete package!"

"Phone call on Thursday, Geraldo came over on Friday to check the job & agreed on price. He arrived on Monday morning & work was all done on that day. Prompt & professional. We are very happy with the repairers done on our home & we would not hesitated to hire him again for any work we need done at our home."

"Carl and crew came out the day after I called to do an estimate and the job was done to our satisfaction within a few days after that. In Southern Oregon it can be very difficult to get quality work done in a short amount of time. Carl was on it and made sure we were completely happy with the job. I would definitely hire him again."

"It went very well. They called the day before saying they would be here at a certain time and they were. Wasted no time starting and getting the job done and left. I would hire again and recommend them to friend and relatives."

"I never contacted the provider or used this service in anyway. I have to
write this review so that the request to write this review stops
popping up.
The rating is bogus as it is required to be able to submit.

"They did a good job. She had to submit like a photo but my daughter had them work on the central are of the loft. The deal was for one room. She got a lot of good ideal from her and it was worth it for her. They were professional and I did not hear anything negative."

Unfinished Carpentry questions, answered by experts

Metal stud framing parts include the studs themselves, upper and lower tracks that act as top and bottom wall plates, various angle fasteners and clips, screws for fastening pieces togeher, metal straps, c-channel supports, and thicker steel supporting structures. Roof framing metal components include pre-fabricated trusses, heavy-gauge stud pieces, and various plates and fasteners.

Removing a load-bearing wall affects the structural integrity of your home, so you’ll need a permit before starting the work. Building codes vary by municipality, and obtaining a permit and having the work inspected after completion will ensure you’re in compliance with all applicable regulations.

The average cost of DIY window framing is about $40 to $60 in materials. If you hire a window treatment professional, you’ll pay for materials plus labor costs—anywhere from $250 to $800 per window. The final cost is highly dependent on the window size, as larger windows are heavier and more difficult to install, as well as the type of window framing material.

Baseboards don’t have to be nailed into studs. However, nailing them into studs adds to their stability. When studs aren’t available, you can secure them with drywall nails directly into the drywall and adhesive. Always aim to nail into studs, especially in high-traffic or impact-prone areas.

When deciding if you should use 2x6 or 2x8 deck joists, consider the size of the deck, joist spacing, and materials. Larger decks, larger-spaced joists, and weaker wood all require more support, meaning they need larger joists. For example, 2x8 redwood joists spaced 16 inches apart can only safely span up to 10 feet and 7 inches. On the other hand, 2x10 southern pine joists spaced 12 inches apart can be as big as 16 feet and 2 inches. If you aren’t sure what size joist is best for your project, speak with your deck builder.
