"I wanted my carpets shampooed for my son's wedding. When the technicians arrived I showed them the 2 rooms that had pet stains and agreed to pay extra for "enzyme" and stain remover. The guy doing the shampooing was unprofessional and very grumpy. He did not say hello, smile, just had an angry stare on his face. When I saw how fast they were going, I decided to intervene to make sure they were actually trying to treat and remove stains. I am very disappointed in their work, they managed to remove stains in one room, when I questioned about the other rooms, the guy actually told me they could not remove stains and hopefully they will "blend in" once the carpet dried! The stains are still there. They rushed through 4 rooms in 45 minutes and left muddy footprints on my vinyl plank flooring. Not worth what I paid them and would not recommend using them again!"

According to the National Fire Protection Association, dryers and washing machines cause over 15,000 fires a year, with dryers causing about 92 percent of those fires. Because dryer fires are more common than you might think, it’s important to clear the lint trap regularly and have annual dryer vent cleanings.

You’ll find the backdraft damper near the top of the range hood (where it connects to the ductwork). However, some range hoods also have a second damper, which is located close to the roof or exterior wall where the ductwork ends. If you don’t see a damper in either of these places, you might not have one.

Conducting quick dryer maintenance can extend its lifespan. Help your dryer stay in mint condition by cleaning the lint trap before and after every cycle. This keeps leftover lint from accumulating in your dryer vent, which is one of the leading causes of household fires, according to the U.S. Fire Administration.

You can also wipe down the lint screen with dish soap every few months to keep it extra clean. A basic wipedown of the drum every few months and a deep clean of the exhaust vent once a year are beneficial, too.
