The communication with the job managers was inconsistent (these men are no longer working there, though I don't know why). For instance, it turned out that the workers would need to use my bathroom, and I hadn't been told beforehand. And the workers, while suited up to go into the dangerous areas, didn't wear shoe covers inside the house (and it was raining) and tracked in a lot of dirt. Cleaning the ducts had been strongly recommended, but it turned out they didn't know how to use this new machine, and I wasn't told of this when they learned it. Additionally, I had to nudge them multiple times about installing the sump pump, which was completed in March.
"Greetings Angie's List, We are sorry the Owner was less than pleased with our business dealings. We strive for customer satisfaction. Disaster Restorations welcomes the opportunity to respond when there is a complication on any job. Disaster Restorations has been in business over 30 years, and we stand behind our work and our billings. We have an excellent business reputation with thousands of satisfied customers. When things do come up, we care and are happy to resolve issues. This job was unusual as the Insured did not call or inform us of any complication they felt needed discussion or explanation. The facts as we know them: 6/12/09 Client called for Emergency Service for Water Damage and Mold Contamination from a week-old (minimum) plumbing leak. 6/12/09 (same day) Our crew traveled over 60 miles one way and performed Emergency Services per the signed Work Agreement Contract for Emergency Service. This is standard operating procedure in the Insurance Repair Industry, the work authorization is signed and work starts immediately. The Contract states an itemized billing will be sent after the Emergency is over, much like the Emergency Room in a hospital. There is not a discussion about an estimate during an Emergency. Disaster Restorations performed work per the signed Contract, we billed for the work we performed on 6/17/09. The detailed billing is 12 pages. We have pictures of the work we completed. It is our understanding the Owner chose to perhaps employ a family member who was available to do related and final repair work. Disaster Restorations did not bill for work performed by other parties. The Owner had questions about the itemized bill and forwarded those questions to their Insurance Company. Their insurance company, who deals with contractors and insurance billings every day ,and has known Disaster Restorations for decades, talked with our Production Manager and was well satisfied and had all questions resolved satisfactorily, about 8/21/09. It may be assumed the Owner settled for final repair billings with their insurance company and hired another party for final repairs. Disaster Restorations was paid in full by the Insurance Company for the work we did. Again, we apologize that the Owner was less than satisfied. I thank You David G Brown CR Disaster Restorations"
