"I put in a request for septic tank pumping and the first contact (from other company) was crazy high. A Affordable Septic gave a quote that was extremely reasonable and they surely live up to the name. Marty came out this morning; on time or even a bit early. He was extremely kind and helpful. 1-800 Water Damage Portland and Vancouver has more than a decade of experience in providing first-rate restoration services for all problems related to water, fire, sewage, and mold damage. Our technicians are all IICRC and Lead certified, which means that they are able to handle any size restoration job for both residential and commercial applications.

"WARNING!!They will take advantage of you. Save thousands by calling SERVPRO or any other reputable company! I am a business owner with multiple locations. We have always used Servpro when we have had a broken pipe, damaged sprinkler head or septic issue. In the last incident, family friends, who own a local septic clog removal service suggested using 1-800-water damage instead of Servpro, as they heard they were cheaper. The manager did call them. I was shocked at the people who arrived. The appearance of the people was unprofessional to say the least. Next they cam in and asked why are we here as there is no water. I explained the employees had cleaned the water from the broken sprinkler head, and that our concern was with the insulation in the attic around the pipe where we could not get to. They stated they had to get someone to asbestos test the insulation and that would rush that. They then started walking around stating they may need to pull up our WATERPROOF luxury vinyl flooring we had installed only 5 years ago!! I said absolutely not and asked why would you even think that and they said well it could damage the floor under…. Our floors are cement slab and the vinyl was commercial and professionally installed. The water had only come from the pipe for roughly 5 mins before the water was shut off. I knew then that these guys either didn’t know what they were doing, or more likely were looking to make the most money they could off each job regardless of the need. They then walked around chatting finally took some hand held moisture testers which they mostly used while walking not on any of they walls. They ended up leaving many dehumidifiers for a building that had a small amount of water in the front part of the entry only. Three days later they call saying that they have to put multiple holes in our interior walls and pump on air to dry out they walls!!! I asked them why and they said they had detected moisture. I asked them in which walls of our over 6000 sq ft building as none of the walls were wet and they had commercial base on the bottom so only minimal if any water could have gotten at the very bottom only before it was cleaned up. He answer “umm well… all of them” he wanted the punch multiple holes in each wall throughout my building! I said he was being insane. That the water didn’t hit 3/4 of the building. I told him I wanted to see moisture readings from the walls in the back and he said well…. “It’s more that we detected moisture in the hall entryway …. Not on the walls themselves”. I told him that if he where to do this we would have to shut our business down because every room would have big machines. We likely would loose multiple clients and potentially tens of thousands of dollars and then we would have to pay to repair the walls on top of that. There was no way for a small and brief water damage to have caused this devastating result when the floors hadn’t even been exposed to water for most of the building. They had never even tried to take sample or remove the wet insulation which was our only real concern. Finally I told them I was going to call Servpro for a second opinion and this young man then said that it wasn’t up to me! That the building owner had signed off ….. A COMPLETE LIE… I called SERVPRO, who came out stated first, the building had no need for that much dehumidifier. Second that simply removing a small bit of the rubber base cove in the entrance would allow the air to dry the very minimal amount of water on the very edge of the Sheetrock behind the base cove. Additionally, they said that as interior walls that have no insulation in them, that there was no need to put holes in any walls as the water would not accumulate there without insulation to hold it. They said it was clear this company 1-800 was trying to get tens of thousands of dollars from us when it was completely unnecessary. The worst part is they knew we would loose customers possibly have to permanently shut down and had no care they just think oh well that is what insurance is for!"

"Our basement flooded in January 2021. Drainage Master was one of 3 estimates we obtained. Seth inspected the situation and suggested and exterior drainage system The our two estimates we for interior systems with a sump pump. The other two companies would not provide an estimate for and exterior system. Also the estimate did not include the cost to repair damage the installation of an interior system would do to a finished basement. The crew was great the foreman answered all of our questions the job was done on time and in budget. I would highly recommend them."

When you need a professional excavator, you can count on the highly experienced contractors at The Excavators, LLC. For many years, we have been offering customers all throughout the Portland Metro area the best in excavating services. As a third generation family owned and operated company, we place a large emphasis on customer satisfaction. We also do sewer repair. There are so many options today for sewer repair in Portland. With trenchless repairs, traditional, and others, going through the options can be overwhelming. So which one is best for you? The Excavators, LLC can help!

"The Excavators LLC came in after another plumbing company unsuccessfully tried to fix the problem. They were able to determine what the problem was and it was really significant. The problem was really complicated but they told us what was needed and were super helpful and supportive every step of the way. We had to have the street closed off, involvement with the City, major digging - and it got done with minimal hassle. They were outstanding and we are forever grateful."

We're innovative, hard working and we get the job done right from the science to the site. From our administration team, to the project managers and field crews, our employees are highly skilled and thoroughly trained professionals. We specialize in air quality testing and mitigation (Radon), underground tank decommissioning, sewer inspection & repair, plumbing services, directional drilling, environmental site assessments and environmental restoration.

"I hired Environmental Works on the recommendation of a co-worker. Not only was it the least expensive of the three bids I received but it was also the only company that offered a lifetime guarantee on its work. The entire installation of a radon mitigation system in my home took less than six hours. The company guarantees that its radon mitigation system can keep radon levels below 2.7 pCi/L. A three-month radon monitoring test, completed ten months after the installation of my mitigation system, indicated radon levels at 1.4 pCi/L. I am very pleased with the work that was performed at my home."

Sewer Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Outdoor plumbing issues are no less serious or urgent to fix than interior plumbing problems. These problems may require excavation and lawn repair due to the plumbing often being buried underground. The most common outside plumbing problems include:

  • Clogged landscape drainage: $200–$1,000

  • Clogged sewer lines: $60–$250 per linear foot

  • Corroded or rusted pipes: $1,500–$15,000+

  • Leaking drain lines: $200–$1,000

  • Leaking water mains: $300–$4,000+

  • Septic system failure: $600–$3,000+

  • Tree roots in pipes: $200–$1,000

  • Well pump failure: $350–$1,500

It’ll take 20 to 30 minutes to unclog a sewer line using a drain snake or drain cleaner. If you hire a professional, you should expect them to be on-site for three hours or less. In addition to clearing the clog, they’ll do other routine inspections, which adds to the overall time (and cost) required.

Inspect regularly for clogs, clean drain lines, and ensure grading directs water away from the foundation.

Knowing the signs can alert you to a clogged drain line. Clogs cause slow drainage or cause no drainage (if there’s a complete blockage). You may also notice foul odors, gurgling noises, water backing up in other appliances on the same line, or a poorly flushing toilet. If you experience any of these issues and think your line might be clogged, call a plumber.

Snaking a drain can take as little as a few minutes for small, simple clogs, up to two hours or more for tough clogs located further down the drain line. For tougher clogs, a professional drain cleaner can likely get the job done much more quickly because they have the necessary tools and expertise. However, your drain cleaning pro might not be able to give you a firm time estimate until inspecting the clog and its surrounding plumbing.
