"I have a cabin that had an old exterior stain product on it that was very susceptible to mold. The house exterior aged very poorly and was covered in a black mold. I hired valley painting pros in southern oregon to take care of it and they handled it perfectly. They safely stripped the mold and old stain off the house while keeping the wood in great clear shape. I love the stain color choice they picked and the product is very resistant to bugs and mold. Throughout the process they were very timely and professional. I would hire them again if I need more exterior restoration or staining work done."

Customers say: Quality work

"The Oregon Painting Company is one of the best companies I’ve ever had work on my house. Brandon was professional, on time, and very knowledgeable; it’s obvious he’s spent years honing his craft. Two of his crew members (Danielle and Katie) were so sweet and stayed extra hours to help finish the job. I’d hire Brandon and his team any time for any painting work, both interior and exterior. When I didn’t know that you had to scrape, sand, AND prime each side that had peeling paint, Brandon actually peeled off a paint chip and showed me in real time how he would do the prep work. Such an artisan, and a gentleman!!!! Try out the Oregon Painting Company today. 9.95/10, would work with again!"

"I hired them to paint a couple rooms and touch up a horrible paint job and replace all the hinges on the cabinets in the whole house! A project the sprevious owner started but never completed â ¦ it was a lot of work to get it looking as good as we could â ¦ there was just so many areas that had to be adjusted and repainted â ¦ Iâ m glad he was willing to take on the project and make everything look right. I have also hired them for more work on my home.. one more thing, I had many very valuable and personal belongings out in the open in my home while they worked on it and they never once touched anything. and I am completely satisfied with the paint job and the cabinet repairs."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

The best temperature to paint a pool deck is between 50 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit, because many paints and sealers require temperatures warm enough for the chemical reaction to take place for proper curing. The paint should not be allowed to freeze, and temperatures above 90 degrees can cause the paint to dry too quickly, also preventing the chemical reaction from following through to completion.

Essential tools include brushes or rollers, drop cloths, sandpaper or power sanders, and appropriate cleaning supplies. Quality materials ensure long-lasting results.

Here's the deal with leaving used rags covered in oil-based stain lying around in a pile: Depending on the conditions, these rags can take just an hour or up to a few days to combust. The source of ignition is caused by trapped heat that can be compounded if the rags are near a heat source.

The general consensus is that two coats of stain are required and since the cedar is siding, a third coat of sealant is always a good idea. This helps protect the wood and stain, so you won’t need to resand and restain for at least a decade. Each stain after the first will darken the wood, so be aware of that when choosing a colored stain.

It’s best to use an exterior latex acrylic paint to promote maximum adhesion to composite decking. This flexible paint type can better cope with the natural expansion and contraction that can occur with composite deck boards. Oil-based paints won’t adhere as effectively and are more likely to crack and peel as the boards flex. Testing whether your chosen paint will stick on an inconspicuous section or a spare board is a good idea.
