Rick did a wonderful job. He made sure every detail was perfect and he communicated with us through the entire project. We were very pleased with the results from the beautiful finish on the cabinets to the final alignment of all of the doors. He did a great job and it was obvious that he takes a lot of pride in his work. We would definitely hire him again.

It was just amazing work and he went above and beyond and putting back my lights and everything and his wage was more than fair and I'm going to have him come back again in the spring to do our shop and my in-laws attached apartment and I just can't thank him enough. They just did an amazing job.

We had four estimates for painting and chose Rick; he was not the least expensive, but his explanation of the process seemed the most sensible. When he arrived, he walked the house and showed us a few areas that needed extra attention. Again, he explained what he was going to do. When his associate noticed the old telephone junction box, he offered to remove it and all the wiring along the house. We happily said yes, and told Rick to add a little extra to the agreed-upon estimate. Our house is a rectangular ranch with a 105-foot roof line. They were done in three days; one day for prep, one day for the body of the house, and one day for the trim, each taking approximately six hours. They arrived on time every day, were happy to answer questions, and did what they said they would do. I will recommend Rick Shier to anyone who needs painting; they did an awesome job.

I hired Richard Shier a couple months ago to paint the exterior of my home. I really appreciate the responsive and professional job that he did. The prepping that was done made such an improvement on my home. His work was beautiful and my home looks great. He quoted a price that was very reasonable. Rick and Chuck were awesome. They showed up on time, prepped and taped as needed, and painted our walls neatly and beautifully. RIck worked around our schedule to get all rooms done in a timely fashion. His fees are fair and reasonable. I would highly recommend this business.

Our house needed exterior paint as well as our shop. The house also had several areas that needed repair/replacement. Rick and Chuck were fantastic in replacing those areas. One area would have been impossible for me to repair myself, but they not only did a great job, it was an amazing job. They were both very friendly, informative and a pleasure to work with. They did a fantastic job painting the house and shop and they both look brand new. We love it and would definitely recommend Rick and Chuck to anyone. They also helped us choose an accent color for the front door, which we hadn't even thought about. It definitely made the house colors pop!! Thanks again Rick and Chuck. You're the best. The other big plus was that they were able to get out here two weeks earlier than the original estimate given to us, which was fantastic.

Very professional

Everything went well and he did a great job. The only drawback was that he didn’t follow through replacing weatherstrips, Less than $10, but I had to go find them.

It could not have gone any better. Rick has painted another house of mine and his work is excellent. Him and his crew are always very professional and when he says he will be there he always is. I absolutely can’t say enough about the excellent job he has done for me.

Excellent work by Rick and his team. They simply did what they said they would do in the time frame and for the amount of money quoted. Besides prepping, priming and painting my house (that needed a paint job like 10 years ago) they also replaced the trim on 3 sides at a reasonable price. Fast communication and highly competent. Rick also advised and fixed other problems with a bad door job, cable wires, satellites, and poorly designed gutter. He just has the experience and the thoughtfulness to get the job done right.

Rick was responsive, prompt and paid attention to details from prep through painting out the trim. Great job and easy to work with.

After Rick painted our 16 year old house; it is beautiful and looks like new again! He and Chuck not only painted the house but first spray treated entire house to eliminate/prevent mold and then pressure washed the entire house. Then primed and caulked where needed. After spray painting Rick then backrolled with more paint. We are very satisfied with the quality of work that he does and would definitely recommend him.

Richard and Chuck were both professional and are excellent at what they do. We wanted our house painted using three separate colors. The trim lines are great and the paint looks amazing. It was rainy off and on the entire time they were working at our home. That being said, they did not paint in the rain, nor when the house was wet from the rain. They would come when the weather cooperated and do what they could. Everyday they cleaned up their work stuff leaving the place neat. We are so pleased with them and highly recommend the services. Richard is the only contractor I have hired in the last year of restoring this home that actually EXCEEDED my expectations. My house is small, but not an easy paint due to its age and neglect, having fallen into the hands of drug addicts. I had big problems with painters in the past — they are often very, very flaky. Sometimes they are downright idiots, but this guy is solid as a rock and his work is absolutely stellar. He may not be the cheapest painter on in the valley, but he's **** sure the best. Don't take chances, get it done right. This guy does it right. I recommend him without hesitation.

Richard did an incredible job. Was punctual, the price was good and we would definitely rehire him. There were a lot of crazy angles, a screened in porch that required a LOT of detailed handwork and the work was accomplished with a smile and a song! Yes, Richard sings while he works and rather well, I might add!

Richard is fabulous. He and his crew did most of the work while I was out of town. We had great communication before I left for the week and when I came back he was ahead of schedule and the house looked amazing. He sprays the paint heavily and back rolls it to fill all the nail holes. He power washed, scraped, caulked and really payed attention to detail. His price was less than I expected and he uses quality products. On top of that, Richard is a genuinely nice guy. His crew know what they are doing, work well together and are friendly and polite. We are completely satisfied with the contractor selection we made for painting the outside of our rural home. Richard Shier (Rick) thoroughly examined the outside of our home, pointing out areas of concern and asking appropriate questions about our paint color selections. . The house is 2,100 square feet with a large carport and large enclosed sunroom, one story but built on a hill making more than half the structure equivalent to a two story house...so a lot of ladder work was involved. While discussing the project Rick convinced me that he had both the experience, skill and most importantly, the work ethic to perform the job successfully. Then he provided a written estimate for the project and we selected him to do the work. Rick and his crew may be among the hardest working and skilled folks I've ever watched. It wasn't unusual to see one of the workers RUN to the work van to get a needed tool and return back to the job. Judging by the good natured relationship they had with each other it's apparent that they all enjoy working as a team, it showed. The final paint results are clearly outstanding. It was also a pleasure to get to know Rick a little bit. With the ever present opportunity for these projects to go sideways, we feel very glad that we selected Richard Shier Painting and enjoy such terrific results. Thank you Rick and crew!

Richard gave me a reasonable verbal proposal and followed through. He and his crew completed the job in two days. They did a superb job--we are so very pleased. They were meticulous in their clean up, touched up areas left by the former painter, careful to cover for any over spray. Very professional, personable, heard no inappropriate language. Highly recommend.
