"Went well. Technicians need to be trained to perform safety procedures for appliances maintenance checks. Making sure appliances being worked on are properly functioning and safe to use for customer. The customer should not be telling or begging technicians to perform safety checks on appliances. More training is needed please. Thank you for your service."

"The technician did an excellent job. It did take a while to get the repair finished, but that was due to Bertazzoni delivering the parts. I have had multiple problems with this particular appliance. My range now works better than it did when new, but I have a feeling that even if I have continuing problems with it, American Home Shield will just repair rather than replace due to the cost of the range. By the way, I'm not exactly sure of the date of the repair."

Appliance Sales questions, answered by experts

The average cost of appliance removal is around $75 per appliance, but you could pay anywhere from $25 to $150, depending on a few factors. Some things that have an impact on the cost of appliance removal include the following:

  • Size of your appliance, with larger items costing more to haul away

  • Number of doorways or stairways the removal specialists need to navigate around

  • Distance from a proper dumping site

  • Presence of water lines or gas lines that need to be disconnected during removal

Some of the most common microwave repair problems include magnetron failure and a plate that won’t spin. When a magnetron fails, the microwave won’t efficiently heat your food—a frustrating albeit common experience. Meanwhile, a plate that doesn’t spin won’t thoroughly heat food, even if the magnetron works.

The average lifespan of a dryer is typically 10 to 15 years. This range is highly dependent on several factors, including the dryer's type, quality, frequency of use, and how well it is maintained. A heavily used machine may only last five years, while a well-maintained one could last 20 years or more.

Factors that can shorten a dryer's lifespan include heavy use, drying improper items like shoes or very heavy loads, clogged lint traps and exhaust vents, buildup on the dryer drum, and an overworked heating element.

To extend your dryer's life, it is crucial to perform regular maintenance. This includes cleaning the lint trap after every use and ensuring the exterior vent is clear of debris. For more thorough cleaning and repairs, consider hiring a local dryer technician as needed.
