"I had a clogged kitchen sink. I tried a variety of methods but the clog got worse. Sewer Renewal Specialists sent Tony to assess the problem and unclog the drain. Tony identified a cleanout right under the sink and unclogged it using a plumbing snake through that cleanout.. The water drains fine now. I'm happy with the work done and with the company's prompt response to my issue."

"AJ, the owner/operator, at this small family-owned plumbing company did a fantastic job rebuilding the water system in our home. AJ was prompt, professional, and clearly very knowledgeable about his work. He explained things well, showed up when he said he would, and the quality of the work was excellent. On top of that, the pricing was very fair. It’s great to find someone who is both competent and economical. I highly recommend AJ if you’re looking for a reliable plumber you can trust. P.S. the project selections were limited to seer clogs and drain clogs. This project was a complete tear down and rebuild of out well water tank, filter, water softener, and hot water heater."

"I would like to thank John for his outstanding customer service. He was the first to respond to my issue with our gas dryer. Once I explained the issue with the install, he assured me that it would be fixable. John called after his last job of the day and came to the rescue. He repaired the install and was more than courteous, and knowledgeable about the process. He was done in under an hour. Unfortunately, we the homeowners must have moved the flange in the floor to the gas connection, The next morning we woke to the smell of gas. I called NW Natural Gas they came out and inspected the issue. I then called John to see if he could help us again. If he could not do the job then would he recommend someone that could. At 7:35 am he answered his phone and would give me a call back to work us into his schedule. By 9 am he was headed to our home. By 10 am he had fixed the problem and I was calling NW Natural Gas to turn our line back on. As a courteous John called at 4:15 pm to see how things were going. New Gas Dryer running, no more gas leak and a positive turn around from the frantic start to the day. I would highly recommend John and his team at Baxter Rooter Drain Services. In fact, they will be our go-to Service call in the future. Thank you again John for setting everything straight with our new gas dryer."

Drain Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Anything you drop down your sink runs the risk of damaging and clogging your pipes. Hair, bits of food, and other debris can catch on the item and build up over time, causing a clog. Even if it’s not valuable, it’s definitely worth trying to retrieve the item, or at the very least, asking a pro for specific advice.

Start by pouring hot—but not boiling—water down the drain. The heat of the water may be enough to break down the clog. You can also try ½ cup of dish soap or 1 cup each of white vinegar and baking soda. If you choose a chemical unclogging product, ensure it’s appropriate for toilets to avoid damage.

A clogged air gap can cause a dishwasher not to drain. There are, however, other potential issues that can lead to improper drainage. For example, if you have attached the air gap to a garbage disposal and forgotten to remove the knockout plug, wastewater may backflow into the dishwasher. Check that the air gap is installed properly, and then look for clogs in the air gap and dishwasher filters.

Yes, frozen pipes can cause a toilet to stop working correctly. If the pipes are frozen, water cannot flow, which can lead to two main problems. First, the supply line to the toilet tank may be frozen, which prevents the tank from refilling with water after you flush. Second, the drain pipe itself can freeze, blocking water from flushing away. As a temporary solution for a non-refilling tank, you can manually add water, but this is not a long-term fix. To clear a frozen drain pipe, you can try pouring warm water into the toilet bowl or tank and then flushing, as the warm water may help thaw the ice blockage. Ultimately, the best course of action is to unfreeze the affected pipes to restore your toilet to full functionality.

Water leaking through your basement floor is a good sign of a clogged drain, but another sign of a clogged basement floor drain can include unpleasant odors coming from the drain. Also, hearing gurgling noises when water drains from the basement or having other plumbing fixtures (like toilets or other drains) backing up is a good indicator.
