He worked with a plumber to repair my bathroom. The plumber's fee were wo much higher they worked as a team. Keith did the prep work and Frank Plummer installed new bathtub/surround at his rates. "Everything was perfect. They came quickly to give us an estimate. When we accepted it, they were able to schedule a nearby time for the job. They performed power washing with mildew-resistant cleaner, scraping, caulking, masking, covering plants etc, spray painting of large areas, roller and brush painting of trim (two coats on everything), and touch-up as necessary, with exceptional eye to detail. The whole job was completed quickly and professionally, and the result is perfect. Although we were initially dubious of hiring the newest company in the area, we are now very glad that we did. It’s a small family business that is professional, does a great job, and is willing to be flexible and make changes during the job. Give them a try, we’re sure you won’t be disappointed!"

Portable generator:

  • 8,000 watts should power most essential appliances and other devices, including a sump pump, well pump, or your dishwasher.

Partial to whole-house generator:

While natural gas generators are costly, they’re a great option for standby power due to the reliability of natural gas as a fuel source. Unlike other fuels, natural gas is delivered through underground pipes, making outages extremely rare and less likely to be affected by the elements. As long as the area isn’t prone to earthquakes, they offer an unlimited supply of natural gas that doesn’t degrade over time or require storage in tanks.

To reduce AC startup power for a whole-house generator, install a soft start kit or hard start capacitor, which lowers the initial surge by gradually ramping up the compressor. Using a smart load manager can also help by staggering startup loads, preventing a system overload and future costly repairs.

The typical cost of a home generator is around $5,000, but prices range from $400 up to $13,000, depending on a few factors. The most significant cost factor is the generator size, as larger generators that can support more square footage usually cost more. You can install an emergency backup generator for between $500 and $2,000 or a partial-home generator for between $2,000 and $6,500. Whole-home generators usually total between $5,000 and $13,000, with some models climbing as high as $18,000.
