Mahalo has been out to my home 3 times in the past year for the same system. I have 3 of their exterior nits and 6 interior units (All Diakin). They charged me a 179 service fee every time they come out and told me the system was working properly. While having the siding replaced on my house the contractor noted that the drain line for the problematic unit was on an incline. Mahalo came out and moved the system away from the wall for the contractor to work. Moved them back and told me I needed an appointment to get the drain line fixed. The drain line is just a piece of PVC that needed to be shortened and turned about 15 degrees. They came back out a week later to fix the drain line. I asked the technician to make sure that my system was still working properly before leaving by checking the exchange temperature difference. I asked for this because if he did something wrong and it caused my system to stop working I had little faith they would fix the issue for free or in a timely manner. The technician checked the temps and suggested I have the units cleaned for around 399.00. I thanked him for checking and then he charged me 179 dollars for a diagnostic that I did not ask for. He said it was what he came out to do so I paid it and contacted the office to resolve the issue. The manager I talked to said he would speak to the owner and get back to me. The following day he called back and they offered me a discount on the first cleaning for my primary unit. I asked about the diagnostic from the previous day and said I would like a refund on that since I did not ask for the service. After a few minutes of searching the agent told me "How about I refund the diagnostic and we go our separate ways." I asked for clarification because it sounded like he was dropping me as a client after this was my first issue with them. He said, "It sounds like you are wanting more than we are willing to do so we should just part ways." I clarified if he no longer wanted me as a client and he clearly and plainly said "yes that is correct." I thanked them for being professional asked how long until I should see the refund and hung up the phone. Mahalo did a great install. Their technicians are professional in appearance and attitude. However, it is my experience that they do make mistakes. In my previous home they installed in they left a whole line down the center of my house where they moved insulation to install that they did not put back, and at this house, their installation caused damage to a wall that required me to have to pay a contractor to replace the entire wall including multiple studs. It is every company's right to choose to who they provide service. I am disappointed that after spending around 12,000 dollars with the company they no longer want to work with me because I didn't want to pay for a service that I did not ask for. I am sure that people reading this will assume my tone was rude or argumentative but I promise you that after years of working in retail and as a juvenile special needs life skills trainer I maintained a professional and nonconfrontational tone throughout. For anyone wondering I will be going with Addcox heating as they are also local and the people I have talked to that have had issues with Mahalo have ended up with Addcox and claim to be having a much more positive and consistent experience. If I wrote this review a year ago it would be 5 stars. Only over the course of time has Mahalo broken down and failed to meet the level of excellence I had come to expect from professionals.

We got a bid for replacement of our equipment in September and it was scheduled for October. Everything went according to schedule. They were prompt and effective and efficient. We are up and running and have a very nice system that works quite well and is much more energy efficient.

Tom at Maholo is a pro. Maholo is the only local contractor who takes internal measurements of your home. This info is input into software that figures optimal load calculations for your home. Tom continues to be promt and professional at every turn. 10/10 would recommend.

Mahalo had come out previously in regards to heat not working properly on mini split ductless system. In cold weather the heat pump would freeze up, defrost cycle didn't resolve it. House temp was 55 degrees. It took 3 days for tech to come out, by then the weather warmed up and heat pump was working properly. A few weeks later it happened again. This time they raised the heat pump off the ground by a few inches. They now install heat pumps on the outside wall for my type of system. Within 2 weeks I again had no heat. The tech that came out this time tested the compressor, this was not done on previous visits. Although it was not Mahalo's fault the compressor was bad I was more than frustrated that it took 3 visits to detect problem while we had intermittent heat. I'm still upset about an indoor inverter that leaked water and ruined a bookcase. In that case I was told drainage was improperly installed under house. New lines were replaced but no discount for damaged bookcase
Response from Mahalo Heating and Air Conditioning LLC
"Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that you are dissatisfied with our previous service on your ductless heat pump systems. In reviewing the notes on your account, I see that we installed your systems in September of 2011. There is a service note about a dripping indoor unit. I see that we came out the same day you called to remedy the issue. We called you to schedule a maintenance on your new systems in July of 2012. You called us to cancel that appointment and did not reschedule until we called you in March of 2013. After multiple phone calls, your service was scheduled for May of 2013. In regards to your comment about a damaged bookcase, you contacted our office on July 1, of 2013 and mentioned the unit was leaking; however, you were going on vacation and would not be back for over a week. We scheduled your FREE visit for July 10, 2013 AFTER you would be back from your trip. We did not hear from you again until November of 2014 and our office was not notified of any permanent damage to the bookcase. We were contacted on November 17th for insufficient heat on one of your systems. This was after a weekend of unseasonably cold temperatures. Your service was scheduled for Wednesday, November 19th as your other system was providing you with heat. Also, this service was performed at NO COST to you even though your labor warranty expired back in 2012. On December 14th, we were called back out to your home where our technician found that the compressor on one of your systems had failed. Again, this diagnostic service was performed at NO COST to you. The compressor was replaced on December 17th and you were charged for our technician’s 4 hours of labor to make that repair. After replacing the compressor, our technician found both of your systems operating normally. In over 3 years of serviceable life, your systems underwent one preventative maintenance visit. We recommend a precision tune-up on a ductless heat pump system every 6 months… With regular maintenance, ductless systems operate more efficiently and the components do not have to work as hard to maintain the desired set temperatures. If you choose to switch to another dealer for your maintenance needs, we completely understand; however, please be certain to be diligent in scheduling those tune-ups every 6 months. Your systems and your electric bill will thank you. If we can be of any further assistance to you, feel free to contact us. If not, we thank you for your past business and wish you well. Mahalo!"

They did an excellent job, were fairly priced, did not replace anything that did not really need replacing, and helped us fill out a mountain of rebate paperwork, including addressing envelopes. We would definitely hire them again for any kind of heating/air conditioning job.

Mahalo was great. They were the only provider that responded to my requests for a bid. I finally did get one other person to bid it and their bid was very limited. Mahalo's bid was very professional several pages long with several options and a price for each option. They handled all the paper work for all rebates and tax credits. They came out and replaced the whole system, cut and added new vents for increased air flow. They fully tested and adjusted the system. I would not go to anyone else in the Roseburg area

Great customer service and HVAC service. Originally installed in 2011 this system has lowered my electric bill by over $1000/year. The owner Tom extensively researched heat pump systems that would work with our house's small transformer. Yearly recommended service was performed in August 2013. Technician checked drain lines in crawl space and was concerned about drainage due to type of lines installed and would talk to Tom. Within a week I received a call to set up an appointment to change type of drain lines. Customer service is A+. Received a reminder call the day before appointment. The day of appointment Mahalo called when service tech was enroute. Yearly maintenance cost was $100 for five units and two heat pumps. Replacement of lines and second service call was no cost.

We recently had a heat pump system installed by Mahalo Heating and Air Conditioning to replace our ceiling heat system. The company representative, Ty, came to the house and gave us an accurate
presentation of the project requirments and a cost estimate. He also
coordinated the required electrical upgrades.
The work started on time and finished in two days. The technicians, Justin and Jeff, were on time, knowledgeable, courteous (including tolerating the family dog), and kept us fully informed as to the details.
Brandon inspected the completed work and filled out the forms for the rebates.
We are completely satisfied with the heat pump system and service provided by Mahalo and we highly recommend them.

Ty came to house, talked about heating and cooling options, estimated furnace size based on size of house, insulation, ducting, etc., e-mailed recommendations and estimate to me. We decided on furnace and called for install. Justin came to house on time, introduced himself, worked hard and did a good job, including some details regarding location of some of the venting and condensate drainage.

Mahalo is also going to process the paperwork for my energy insentive/rebate for the furnace.

Their bid was the best price and the most professional of the three we got. We were so glad we went with Mahalo. They finished ahead of schedule, did everything they said they would, and did all the paperwork themselves for our rebates and tax credits. They were extremely nice, very prompt, and even their office people were tops in professionalism and helpfulness. We couldn't have asked for more. Highly recommended.

They did exactly what they said they were going to do. They provided really quality air conditioning unit and equipment. The installed seem to know exactly what they were doing. The guy who was their boss came over and checked a couple of times how things were going and they followed up really well without being pushy. They did a bunch of government rebate paper work for us that they did not have to do right down to providing stamps for the envelopes. We will use them in the future.
