"Fred and his crew were fantastic. I would recommend them and I have! Are they perfect? No...but who is? Even if they goofed, they went above and beyond to make it right. The result speaks for itself. I am very happy with my new bathroom!"

"Tech was able to tell me what the error code meant but did not want me to order part until testing with volt meter. Diag appointment with volt meter did not cost extra. Tech gave me part numbers and it fixed the problem."

"The rep came to our house and tested our water, which was found to be really good water. We still wanted an RO system and he explained our options. He did not upsell us on the highest end products, but educated us on our choices and we chose a system that worked for us. The follow up service over time has been outstanding. They even came to repair a part we had broken and only charged us for the part. Outstanding company with employees who go above and beyond."

"Shawn came out on a Sunday afternoon; removed a faulty dishwasher, found a leak that had caused a lot of damage previ9usly, installed a new faucet, assessed a couple of other potential problems and cleaned up after himself. We have asked Shawn to come back and do a few other plumbing projects and test our water as well. This man is a real professional."

"Wish I could write more than one review for this company; they were terrific!!!  The work actually spanned two days.  The first day, the technician came out and checked the clean-out, which appeared to be operating as intended when I flushed to toilet in the master bath.  Because the clean out was not blocked, the technician guessed that the blockage was under the house in the plumbing lines, and suggested that I call a plumber (Thinking that they would be more successful snaking the lines from the inside out, rather than going in blind from the outside and therefore less expensive for me).
A plumber was called and because snaking did not clear the issue, he installed a second clean-out near the main bath, and by doing so, determined that the issue was not under the house, but rather in the line from the main bath to the tank.
So back to Best, and here I want to say how very pleasant, helpful and kind Barbara (the rep answering the phone) was to work with, she went above and beyond to make sure that my issues were resolved as quickly as possible!  End result; the technician was back out quickly, and had the blockage cleared right away!
Here's why I will use and recommend this company in the future:
  • *  They are very mindful of costs and do their best to give you options to keep costs down
  • *  They work quickly, and clean-up once the work is done
  • *  They are extremely, pleasant and professional
  • *  They were on time or ahead of schedule

Percolation Tests questions, answered by experts

Since the EPA partially banned asbestos in 1989, it is no longer used to manufacture new siding in the United States; production had largely ceased by the early 1980s. Many other countries, such as Canada, Iceland, and Denmark, also have bans on asbestos. However, asbestos siding is still present in many homes built before the late 1980s. The only definitive way to know if your siding contains asbestos is to have it professionally lab-tested.

According to the National Cancer Institute, asbestos-related diseases can take anywhere from 10 to 40 years for symptoms to appear. The health risks increase with prolonged and heavier exposure. Risk factors also include:

  • Amount of exposure

  • Chemical makeup, size, and shape of the asbestos fibers

  • Length of time a person is exposed to asbestos

  • Genetic factors

  • Source of exposure (direct exposure or secondhand exposure from someone directly exposed)

While asbestos can’t be directly absorbed through the skin—the fibers are too big—skin contact can still produce symptoms. Contact dermatitis can flare up in sensitive individuals but in most cases, the danger from asbestos comes from inhaling the fibers, or dust, that is produced when asbestos is disturbed. If you touch asbestos by accident, immediately wash yourself and your clothes.

Knob and tube wiring is an older type of electrical wiring that's no longer used and generally not considered safe. However, some homes still have it, or may have a knob and tube wiring system that was incorrectly modified or rigged to work with a modern electrical system. Knob and tube wiring may contain asbestos insulation, but the only way to know is to have the material professionally tested.

Whether or not to buy a home containing asbestos is ultimately a decision for the homebuyer, and there are several things to consider. When in good condition and contained, asbestos is unlikely to present a health risk—it’s when those tiny fibers are loose and airborne that they become a problem. Consider any renovations you plan on doing to the home that could disturb existing asbestos and the cost of removal. If an inspection finds asbestos in a home on the market, you could negotiate with the seller for a lower price, though this isn’t a sure thing.
