"Valley Brothers is a very professional and thorough crew they took the time to do the job correctly and fixed the issues that the original builders failed to do correctly. Understood the difference between paint for color and paint for the first line of defense from the harsh oregon coast storms. They took the time to do the job right very professional crew and would definitely refer them and use them for all future projects. Thanks valley Brothers!"

"Surfaces NW helped us pic out the syyles that fit the house and our needs for a vacation house, we were able to see the samples In person. They worked with our tight schedule window, and was able to get it done fairly quickly for the size of the area. Their crew did an amazing job on the install and cleanup after it was done. It totally transformed the look of the house, and feels great on our feet!"

He gave us an amazing deal, def could of charged us way more for what he produced! Wish I could post a photo! If you are looking to have a mantle made, and installed, I highly recommend Andrew, you will not be disappointed."

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

Your tiles will have a significant visual impact on your bathroom, so you’ll want to make a thoughtful decision. Once you land on the tile material that suits your needs and budget, you can consider the color schemes you want. Consider whether you want something modern, classic, or eye-catching.

Larger tiles can be difficult to install because they’re heavier and bulkier than their smaller counterparts, which makes them harder to haul around and put in place. Plus, if you don’t install the tiles correctly, they could crack or break. For these reasons, it’s best to hire a professional for large-format tile installation.

The difference between floor and wall tiles is that floor tiles generally have higher strength and porosity ratings than wall tiles. Wall tiles are typically weaker and more likely to crack or become damaged under sustained pressure like high foot traffic.

For this reason, avoid using wall tiles on floors and vice versa.

Porcelain countertops have a fairly long life span, sometimes lasting for decades. Depending on how much wear and tear you put your countertops through, it could last 25 to 50 years. But be warned, porcelain is also prone to cracking, so as long as you take good care of it, you’ll have those countertops looking brand new for years to come.

The easiest tile size to install is large tiles, and they’re easier to install than small tiles—the job is faster and simpler when there’s less placing, adhering, and grouting to do. However, when tiles get really big, they’re more difficult to handle, cut, and fit. Standard floor tile sizes are 12-by-12 inches, 18-by-18 inches, and 12-by-24 inches.
