There are two ways to determine which renovation will add the most value to a house. One is based on money alone, and the other is based on the percentage of money spent versus money earned when selling the home. The durability and overall longevity of house cladding varies by the material, but the average lifespan is between 15 to 25 years. Metal cladding is generally the most durable and long-lasting, with a life expectancy of up to 100 years. The easiest way to remove stucco is to use a circular saw with a diamond blade to cut small squares out, pry them off, and then cut the metal lath behind it with tin snips. Plus, you’ll have a higher risk of damaging windows, hidden siding, and sheathing if you go the less precise route.

A standard drill will work just fine if you’re drilling small holes, and only a few of them. But anything with a diameter larger than 3/8 inch is best done with a hammer drill, since it is stronger, faster, and also makes your drill bits last longer. While you don’t absolutely need a hammer drill for stucco, it is a worthy investment if you think you might drill more holes down the road.
