"After interviewing 8 contractors, Dorson Jackson was the obvious choice for our major project/home remodel, touching on every room in the house. From the very start, Dorson has been responsive & communicative, something rare and incredibly appreciated. He dedicated an extraordinary amount of time for his bidding process, breaking the house down into zones, and then listing every single change, plus parts and labor fees for the changes, in every zone. Every other contractor gave us a one or two page bid with very few details. Dorson's proposal was a detailed 17 page document. He is EXTREMELY organized and we were super impressed with the effort he put into bidding the project. We have since hired Dorson Construction and he and his team have begun demolition. He also sent photos to us of every room in the house after demolition so we could see what he had done, what issues were found that he had prepared for as possibilities in his bid, and comments on each photo explaining what he saw after demo. Because we are not living locally, having someone we can trust with our home from far away is of the utmost importance. Dorson recently brought his son on board and we have been equally impressed with his follow up and thoroughness. In addition, Dorson has gone out of his way to help us with our permitting process, which is not part of his job and was only necessary due to failure of a third party. "I researched 4 companies to fully encapsulate a crawlspace damaged by flooding and rats. I also did a lot of research into possibly doing it myself so i knew what to look for. John's was the most expensive, but they were all in the same general ballpark. I was put off by some of the competitors marking insulation as "extra" and not including in their initial estimate. Insulation is required! John's costs a bit more but you get more too: John's insulated the entire floor with wrapped foam pads, dug a drain trench around the entire perimeter, jacked up every concrete pier to slide vapor barrier underneath the posts, and used proper mechanical fasteners on all of the wall insulation boards. Every nook and cranny was sealed with spray foam. The workers were amazing. They did not cut any corners. They nipped and tucked every tight little spot and never complained or made excuses. They built a plastic clean-tunnel every day and took it down down every afternoon. They did not leave behind trash. My crawlspace is clean enough to literally eat off the floor now. I would recommend John's if you want your job done correctly."

"The contracted the work off to a third party. Jon took longer than expected. The windows was installed pretty good from the looks. Communication could have been better with knowing the job will take longer and what types of trims I wanted for the windows. As the contractor that was hired for this job by this company. Did a good job with putting up decent trim. As for the new windows they look great. I purchased the myself and hired sentri homes to install them. I will need to have a my siding on my house redone to be closer to the new windows so the gaps are not so obvious. That was not expected at first. But from old storm windows and not knowing how they were put in originally. There was some unknown things that was learned from the job being completed. I will have the siding of the house slightly done to match really good for what I wanted later on. My only concern is better communication with sentri homes. Overall they were great when I did talk to them."
