"We need to tell you about our experience with Morena Legacy Construction - Andres responded right away- as did other contractors bidding for our project of siding our home. We have a 1800 sqft home. He listened to our thoughts and answered our questions promptly and suggested some ideas. We knew we were in good hands with this Company. Respectful, open communication, kind, honest, friendly, funny, hardworking, Attn. to detail... what more, really, could you ask from a company. We knew there might be some damage under the first layer but found a 2nd layer and minor repair needed, replaced 2 doors, and 2 windows... Andres negotiated an honest fair additional cost. His workers from start to finish cleaned up after their day. Were gentleman and kind. They worked very well together. They took down and replaced siding in 5 days- including repairs and additional ideas. Couldn't be happier - Comfortable, stress free from start to finish. Exactly what was promised is right!"

"Here?s a condensed version under 999 characters while keeping it natural and personal: --- Vanguard Construction did an amazing job transforming my garage into a high-tech office and workshop. It started as an old, uninsulated space with outdated paneling, but they completely gutted, insulated, and upgraded everything. They brought in an electrician to install a dedicated subpanel, 12 lights, 18 outlets, and a 240V outlet, ensuring I had power where I needed it. They also installed security cameras, motion lights, and outdoor outlets. They framed and soundproofed a wall to separate my laundry area, added French double doors, and finished with carpet tile. Their transparency was outstanding?they broke down every cost, kept me informed, and even refunded me $800 from the material budget. They put time and care into every detail, and I?ll be hiring them again soon. If you want quality work from an honest, detail-oriented team, hire this company."

Small jobs welcome

"Great job on power washing a building that looked like it needed a new paint job. Shalamar Hays worked on this building for many hours with her pressure washer paying attention to details. The building looks like it was repainted and brand new. Great work, very professional great people. I recommend them highly."

"They are excellent. Follow-up, communication, problem solving, kindness, and skill. So pleasant to work with and the finished project is a beautiful flagstone walkway and access to a raised bed. Highly recommend."

Carpentry questions, answered by experts

Bump-out additions can add some space to a closet without requiring any significant structural work. This entails pushing back the existing rear or side of the closet, simply moving the wall into either an adjacent room or unused space. For ground-floor closets, this could even be extended to the exterior of the home, but that has its own complications. Bump-outs are a good discussion to have with your contractor if you’re just looking to increase the space a little—not renovate the entire closet space.

You can choose 5/8-inch plywood or 3/4-inch plywood—anything thinner than these sizes may not withstand the impact of debris propelled by strong winds or can be easily torn off by intruders. Remember that the durability of the wood board is crucial, particularly for safeguarding your windows during severe storms. The effectiveness of using wood boards for protecting the investment you made in your home relies on using the appropriate material and ensuring proper installation.

Metal stud framing parts include the studs themselves, upper and lower tracks that act as top and bottom wall plates, various angle fasteners and clips, screws for fastening pieces togeher, metal straps, c-channel supports, and thicker steel supporting structures. Roof framing metal components include pre-fabricated trusses, heavy-gauge stud pieces, and various plates and fasteners.

Yes, professionals can install new frames, trim, and threshold adjustments for a complete finish.

Baseboards don’t have to be nailed into studs. However, nailing them into studs adds to their stability. When studs aren’t available, you can secure them with drywall nails directly into the drywall and adhesive. Always aim to nail into studs, especially in high-traffic or impact-prone areas.
