"I was grateful to meet Erick for our initial review of my home as he explained in detail what would be done and answered all my questions. Then when the bid came the work was clear and helpful. I thoroughly trust Erick to stand behind his jobs and name. I have extensive porch areas and facia that needed to be seal bonded before painting. Sam and the crew did a great job with all details of seal bonding, caulking the seams, and masking the windows and needed areas. I love the colors I picked and Erick uses high-quality Sherwin Williams Resilience exterior satin finish paint. The job came out beautiful as you can see in the picture of my front porch. They even gave me a blue tape to put tape anywhere I had a concern to refinish before the final to make sure I was fully satisfied. I have used TCP painting before on my interior and now my exterior. I am a loyal repeat customer. Thanks Erick and Sam."

Additional contact: Greg Thompson (541) 690-4168. Five employees. Over 25 years experience. Subs used for drywall, plumbing & electrical. Charges are determined by the job. No travel or service charges. After hours & emergency services available at no additional cost. Contact for more information.

"Greg was the subcontractor on our 600k plus home. He installed out custom tile shower. One month after our 1 year warranty we found standing water in the adjacent closet. Greg came out and said you fault because grout cracked. I have now had 3 independent general contractors come and say it is faulty workmanship and that the shower pan failed because of the method he used to construct it. Greg offered to replace 5 tiles but we were own our on for everything else that is damaged and needs to replaced. Now we are footing the bill for more than 8k in repairs not to mention inconvenience. My advice look for a better contractor before hiring him. Let our misfortune be a warning to all."

Deck Maintenance questions, answered by experts

Both deck footings and deck posts help prop up your deck. However, footings are the bottommost parts of a deck that touch the ground. They’re usually made of concrete. Posts are pieces of wood that attach to the top of the footings with brackets. They run upwards and connect to the underside of your deck to support its weight.

Although composite decking is extremely durable, it’s also susceptible to extreme heat. Prolonged exposure to sunlight can cause fading, warping, and cracking. Composite also retains heat more than wood, which makes it dangerous to walk on in the summer. You can help prevent heat damage by only building with composite in shaded areas or using rugs to cover the hottest spots.

Depending on how you design your balcony is the most essential factor when talking about how much your home's balcony can hold. The typical weight a balcony can support ranges between 50 and 100 pounds per square foot. However, it's possible to exceed those limitations with careful planning by a structural engineer.

To child- or pet-proof your deck railing, look for railing systems with narrow spacing—under 4 inches—between balusters or panels. For added safety, consider installing a clear acrylic or mesh guard along the inside of the railing to prevent small limbs or paws from slipping through. Avoid horizontal rails that adventurous kids can climb like ladders. You can also add self-closing gates at stair openings to limit access.

Rot loves moisture, so deck rot typically impacts the parts of a board that stay wet. This includes the underside of boards, in addition to support posts and joists. However, any part of a board can rot, given the right conditions.
