"First of all, System Pavers paved all around our house and the drop downs on this form did not give me any options for a correct explanation of the work performed. With regard to our experience working with them the communication with the project manager was excellent from beginning to end and the crew were really great. When we requested some additional work during through the project, they worked with us on this and still completed the project in a timely manner. System Pavers seems to be a very professionally run company and we were impressed by all who worked on our project. Of course, we are very happy with the new look surrounding our home! We do have one unforeseen issue that they have returned to examine and we trust that this will be resolved soon."

"There are not enough good things I can say about this firm. I hired them to clean out a rental house and they were nothing short ofincredible. They were totally professional, did a perfect job, and left a clean and tidy house. I will recommend them to family and friends, I would hire them again in a heartbeat. They simply are the best company I have worked with in recent years. Their communication was excellent and the cost of the work was competitive and completely in line with other companies offering the same services. You will not get a better company or people to work with. This firm sets a very high bar in terms of work ethic, cost savings, customer service and professionalism."

"Jose and his crew did an excellent job on restoring my paver sidewalk. Everything about the job was of the highest quality both of the workmanship and the customer service. He said he would be here at 8:00am and sure enough he drove up exactly at 8:00am. He not only did the work that I ask him to do but he did some extra work that went beyond my expectation. I would highly recommend him and his crew."

"These guys were great. Always answered my calls, texts in a timely manner, performed all the work we had discussed and then some ( went the extra mile when I asked to get us more plants at the last minute)! My experience with other landscapers were they never returned calls and seemed to have difficulty finding the plants we wanted - Sherpa Landscaping came through and did an excellent job - highly recommend!!!"

"Very reasonable price. I had an 80' long retaining wall built to level off my property and protect my foundation. He and another worker came out on the 2 hottest days we've had and knocked it out. He used good quality materials and has his own equipment to handle this size job. He and his worker were both very polite and respectful to me and my property. They cleaned up at night and tried to minimize the impact of their work to the rest of my property. This is someone to remember for other projects. Thanks Eric!!"

Paving Services questions, answered by experts

You can pour concrete over asphalt if it’s in good condition, thick, stable, and well-compacted. Concrete is more durable than asphalt and can extend the lifetime of your driveway without having to pay frequent asphalt driveway repair costs or replace it completely.

But this is best reserved as a temporary solution based on budget restraints, as asphalt requires more frequent repairs and assessments than concrete. Once that concrete top is poured, it’ll be harder to accurately understand what’s happening beneath that layer, which could lead to more issues.

Building a road on a slope requires careful planning and will normally require a drainage system underneath to prevent flooding and damage to the road over time. Your professional may lengthen your road to create switchbacks if the slope directly to your home is too steep, as there are regulations for maximum road slope. The drainage system will help prevent runoff from the higher side of the slope from damaging the asphalt or concrete. Keep in mind that building a road on a slope isn’t a good DIY project, as a lot can go wrong.

Whether you should resurface or replace your asphalt driveway heavily depends on its condition. If the foundation is solid and the damage is minor, resurfacing is your best bet because it’s more affordable and faster than replacing the driveway. But if your driveway has foundational problems and/or severe damage, like large, deep cracks and potholes, then it makes more sense to replace it.

It is possible to DIY complete hardscaping projects, but in most cases, hiring a professional is best to get the job done correctly. Hardscaping—including installing patios, decks, retaining walls, walkways, and water features—is challenging and time-consuming, so the money you spend on a professional is typically worth it. Not only will the quality be better, but you could avoid problems that come along with a lack of hardscaping experience, like drainage issues that can lead to costly foundation damage and leaks in your home.

In most cases, driveway repair is worth the investment. Your driveway is one of the first things people see when they look at your home, so repairing cracks, chips, and potholes can improve your home’s curb appeal and overall value. Repairing your driveway is also almost always more affordable than replacing it entirely—an average of $1,765 compared to the cost of replacing a driveway, which typically costs around $5,000.
