"Starry Solar System picked me up as a customer when my installer was missing in action to swap out my inverter. They are now my solar installer and representative. I couldnâ t be happier as this company cares about solar and the people who spend there hard earned money on a better energy solution."

"My wife and I just got installed here in Edmond OK Jan 2022.. we had LOTS of solar people come to our door who just didn’t provide good enough information for us to make the switch.. We were very happy to choose Zack and his team for our project. They helped us go Solar and got us qualified right away for 0$ out of pocket. It immediately reduced our electricity costs. With what OGE was starting to charge we were having to change how we were living.. since we got installed in January we haven’t had to change anything. Our OGE bills would be 350-550$ right now, fortunately we are locked in with the solar bill at 187$."

"Excellent service, From the initial call. Their techs showed up on time, walked me through all of the HVAC info that I didn't understand to begin with and now have somewhat of a grasp about. They were extremely polite and professional. We are so grateful, I was treated like a valued customer and not just another job on their list. We were also pleasantly surprised with the overall price for the services provided. I Highly recommend these guys for any heat air or plumbing work you may need, they're who we will be using for any future work we need. Thanks again guys, great job!!"

Solar Panels questions, answered by experts

Insurance companies aren’t against solar panels, but they may have concerns about the risks and costs of insuring solar. The type of policy, where you live, and the insurance company itself matter. Extreme weather can damage solar panels, and faulty installation or electrical malfunctions pose a fire risk—this, in turn, can increase insurance company liability and payouts. However, you’re likely to keep coverage as long as you have a pro install the solar system, keep it maintained, can pass a solar panel inspection, and update your homeowners policy to include solar.

Installing solar panels is worth it if you’re frustrated with paying high utility bills, live in a sunny location, and qualify for tax credits and incentives. Most homeowners cut between $650 and $1,500 from their utility bills each year by installing solar panels. Over the course of your panel’s warranty, you could save anywhere from $16,300 to $37,500, though those in sunny areas with high energy costs could save more than $100,000.

You can start narrowing your search for a reputable solar company by finding local, regional, and national companies that service your area and maintain positive reviews online. You should also check the Better Business Bureau’s (BBB) website to see if the company has complaints filed against them. Next, contact the remaining candidates and ask about installation timelines, warranty coverage, and financing options. Choose a company that offers a labor warranty that lasts at least 10 years and prioritizes cash purchases and solar loans.

In most cases, yes, solar panels are well worth the investment. Going solar with your home’s energy is expensive, but, in most states, the panels will pay for themselves by reducing your electric bills. Solar panels don’t produce greenhouse gasses or other pollutants, meaning you can feel good about using this renewable energy source to power your home. Plus, installing solar panels can boost your home value, helping your profit off your next home sale.

Solar shingles typically last between 20 and 30 years, a lifespan comparable to that of traditional solar panels and standard asphalt shingles. The exact duration depends on the manufacturer and the quality of the installation. Because solar shingles are a newer technology, there is limited data on their actual long-term performance. Factors that can impact their durability and longevity include weather conditions, roof ventilation, and regular maintenance. To extend the life of your solar shingles, you should conduct regular inspections and cleaning, and make any necessary repairs as quickly as possible.
