"Honest family business that does outstanding work, quickly? How can you top that. He explained a lot about lightning and the various dangers. Given my tall, metal roofed home in a wooded setting, I needed lightning protection. I've never had a problem in 23 years, until the past 3 months. The frequency and intensity of electrical storms is increasing. I had two close calls (at the expense of over $1,000 of electronics (that I had plugged into expensive surge protectors!) With something as important as lightning protection, go with experience. Red, White, and Blue has that!"

"Well, the first appointment was made for a Friday afternoon and we took off from work to be at the house to wait for them.  By 4pm there was no word so I called only to find they had an emergency and were not coming.  She said she called everyone the night before, but NOT ME.
The woman and I had talked and I was told the charge for going into an attic was an extra $75. I agreed as I had read this in previous reviews also.  IT WAS NOT STATED IN THE AD!!!  The ad said extra charge for materials, ok ,and as I said I agreed to the 75 ON THE PHONE WITH THE WIFE, NOT 125.
They arrived at the house for the second appt and told my husband it was $125 to go in the attic now!?!  What?
Husband called me and I informed the lady that we had discussed this and I was told by her 75 extra, not 125, well long story short...the coupon from Angies List cost $99 for 2 hours of electrical labor. It said materials extra.  We had to write a check for another $150.
I value any working person's time and skills, but I feel like we were "taken". Don't tell me one price then as soon as you arrive increase it. We paid it, the people did quality work,  but I would not do business with them again.

"I would hire them again....guys were very kind, everyone on the phone was outstanding...no pms chicks to deal with, all very professional. My only minor complaint would be that I asked the estimator for a few extra hours of misc electrical work to put in the time frame and then reiterated it on the phone and they were aware of it but then the electrician said he wasn't told so my misc work didn't get done. So not sure what happened but would still hire this company again."

"Just to let you know this was not the company I was looking for. You recommended a lightning Protection company when I needed an electrician. Mr. Gorman was very helpful and advised me where to look for the breaker in my box outside that connects to my box out in my shed. I would definitely have him do work for me. He was very helpful on the phone."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

In Sallisaw, neglecting surge protection during frequent storms, overloading outlets with space heaters in winter, and allowing humidity to build up in kitchens or bathrooms can all reduce electrical system longevity. Storing items too close to electrical panels or ignoring routine HVAC maintenance can also lead to wiring issues. Regularly checking for moisture and pest activity helps maintain electrical safety and performance.

Helpful?

In Sallisaw, electrical panels in homes built before the 1980s often require upgrades to meet current safety standards. Outdoor lighting and outlets are especially vulnerable to storm damage and humidity. Kitchens may need new circuits for modern appliances, while attic and crawl space wiring can be affected by temperature swings and moisture. Well pump wiring and garage circuits also commonly need attention in this region.

Helpful?

The timeline for electrical projects in Sallisaw depends on project scope and local conditions. Simple jobs like outlet replacements or installing new lighting fixtures usually take less than a day. Panel upgrades or home rewiring can take several days, especially if weather delays or inspection scheduling become factors. Storm season and contractor availability may also influence how quickly your electrical work is completed.

Helpful?

In Sallisaw, unexpected costs during electrical projects often stem from the need for updated wiring in homes built before the 1980s, especially due to local storm damage or outdated panels. Additional expenses can arise from permit and inspection requirements, addressing storm-related surge protection, or repairing wiring damaged by pests and humidity. Limited attic or crawl space access can also add labor time and complexity to your electrical project.

Helpful?

Your Sallisaw home may need electrical upgrades if you notice frequent breaker trips, flickering lights during storms, or outlets that feel warm to the touch. Homes built before the 1980s or those using extension cords regularly are strong candidates for panel or wiring updates. If you plan to install new appliances or outdoor lighting, a professional assessment ensures your system meets current electrical safety standards.
