"My wife enjoyed how non-evasive he was, as she was working from home that day. All work was completed, and there wasn't any hard up-selling for products or scare tactics, which occurred with a "well known" electric company. It was just a man who tried getting as much as possible done within the allotted time. We've since used him again."

"I hired Mr. Electric to change a fuse box to a breaker panel and update the electrical for the house. I talked to Jonathan who set up the appointments, sent email messages that included the picture of the technician. The technician, Nathanial was very efficient in getting the job done quickly."

"Great experience with this electrician! He did an excellent job replacing our kitchen light fixtures. Everything looks great, works perfectly, and they were professional, efficient, and clearly knew what they were doing. We especially appreciated that they came out on a Saturday, which was incredibly convenient. Highly recommend"

"Proactive Industries installed an outlet for my EV charger station. The work was excellent and the price was very reasonable. Unlike other companies I was not sold on services I do not need. I definitely recommend Proactive Industries. Straight forward, excellent work. Thank you again"

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Completing electrical work in Norman offers immediate benefits like improved storm readiness, enhanced energy efficiency for hot summers, and a boost in home value. Over time, you’ll gain better storm resilience, lower utility bills due to Oklahoma’s tiered rates, and potential insurance perks. Many Norman homeowners also benefit from local rebate programs for energy-efficient upgrades, making electrical improvements even more valuable.

Helpful?

In Norman, electrical work can impact systems like HVAC, plumbing pumps, and smart home devices. Signs include flickering lights when the AC starts or GFCI outlets tripping during storms, which may indicate conflicts. Electrical upgrades can also affect sump pumps and well pumps, common in Norman homes. Consulting a local expert ensures your electrical work integrates smoothly with all home systems.

Helpful?

In Norman, habits like overloading circuits during summer heat waves, skipping surge protection during storm season, and relying on extension cords for long-term use can all strain your electrical system. Failing to test GFCI outlets, especially with Norman’s high humidity and clay soil, increases risk. Regularly checking outlets and limiting circuit loads helps protect your electrical work and ensures long-term safety.

Helpful?

Homeowners in Norman often skip surge protection, underestimate how clay soil affects grounding, or choose undersized panels that struggle with Oklahoma’s heat. Skipping required permits, placing outdoor outlets incorrectly, and using the wrong wire gauge for large properties are also frequent errors. Consulting local professionals and planning for Norman’s unique climate and soil conditions helps prevent these costly and unsafe mistakes.

Helpful?

In Norman, panel upgrades typically take 6-8 hours, while whole-house rewiring often spans 3-5 days, especially in older neighborhoods. Smaller jobs like installing outlets or ceiling fans usually finish in 2-4 hours. Weather delays and permit processing—often 2-3 business days—can extend these timelines, particularly during Norman’s spring storms and peak summer months when demand is higher.
