We are flooring experts here to help you get the home of your dreams. It is our goal to be your partner in maintaining your floors over the years.

"I want to share my recent experience with a really fine contractor. I recently contracted with FloorsEliteDFW, headquartered in Southlake. I wanted to expand the oak flooring in my house and I needed repair of existing oak flooring in a long hallway. The owner of Elite Flooring, Kevin Clement, assured me that he could repair the damaged area to look like new and that he could add the additional flooring to an exact match of my existing wood floors. He quoted me a very reasonable price and gave me an accurate start date. His crews were very well supervised, friendly, and clean cut. They were clearly knowledgeable and sealed off the work areas and air conditioning vents with plastic sheeting to eliminate the spread of sawdust residue throughout the house. Kevin was at our home every morning to inspect the progress, answer my questions, and to lead his people. Though he had other jobs under way simultaneously, one of which is an extremely large job in a palatial residence here in Colleyville, we were led to feel like we were his sole customer at that particular time. He was back this morning with one of his crew to rework a bit of caulking because he was not happy with the prior work. This speaks to the high standards that he maintains. He insisted that this rework take place, not me. In short, we love the results of his work and had a truly great experience working with him. I highly endorse FloorsEliteDFW."

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, water coming up from the floor should be treated as an emergency. If you're unable to either identify or stop the source of the water on your own, contact an emergency plumber right away. In addition to harming your flooring, standing or pooled water can lead to water-damaged concrete.

Carpet tiles are less expensive than traditional carpet. The average cost of carpet installation is $1,800, or $3 to $11 per square foot. In comparison, carpet tiles cost $2.50 to $11 apiece and can often be bought in bulk cartons. Since you can more easily DIY carpet tiles, you may be able to save on installation costs, too.

Your room doesn’t need to be completely empty to restretch a carpet, but you’ll need enough space that you can move around furniture to access the wrinkled areas and the wall where you’re reattaching the carpet. A contractor will move your furniture out of the way before they start the job, but you can save money by moving your furniture before they arrive.

Laminate flooring takes about 24 to 48  hours to settle. Before this, planks are not completely acclimated to your home, and walking on them could cause shifting and permanent damage to the flooring. You should allow floorboards to acclimate for 48 to 72 hours before installing so that they can adjust to your home’s humidity and temperature levels, but they will continue to acclimate and settle after installation. For this reason, avoid placing any furniture in the room for 72 hours after installation.

Your floors will continue to settle for a few months after installation, becoming less bouncy as they rest.

The type of flooring you choose for your bedroom comes down to personal preference. Many people prefer carpet over hard-surface flooring types (such as hardwood, tile, or stone) in their bedrooms because it’s warmer and cozier. Carpeting also helps muffle sound, which may benefit those who have trouble sleeping.

On the other hand, some folks prefer the look of hardwood over carpet. People with allergies might also opt for non-carpeted flooring since carpet fibers can attract dust, dander, and other allergens.
