"They dropped the materials off and I unfortunately got locked, but they were swift to strip the old roof and installed decking, roofing and exhausts, just before the coldest storm in 7 decades. "George and his team were amazing! He helped us select the right color, prepped it amazing, worked around our roofing, deck, and drainage schedules to keep everything moving. They picked up after themselves, were not noisy, and sought any decisions that would help us be happy with the results! Each step of the way, George discussed options to improve. I changed the plans late in the project by asking him to trim some black on the decks. He quickly came back with a revised schedule and cost that were reasonable. "Justin is superior in his work, very meticulous. He was there when he said he would be, and very easy to get a hold of. Very honest guy, I left my home in his care without a worry . Everything was done beautifully and if he had an issue he goes over it with you explaining it in detail. Lea , Justinâ s wife can handle the cabinet design working with the kitchen design center, this made the process go smoothly as she handled most interactions with them. She did her own drawings with Auto Cad and was able to guide us through the right kitchen for our needs. She made the design process flow so smoothly. If you are building a new home or just needing an upgrade like we did, I would highly recommend Justin and also adding Leaâ s service, when you do. You will not be disappointed."

Wood stain is not flammable after it dries. The solvent in wood stain is what causes the liquid form to be highly flammable, but the stain drying process involves the solvents dissolving, which leaves behind a non-flammable product on your wood project. Wood stain is, however, flammable before you apply it, so you should always store partially full cans and used wood stain rags away from sources of heat and open flames.

Stain is meant to be absorbed by the porous wood, allowing some of the natural grain to show through. With that in mind, you don’t want to add more stain than the wood can absorb, as you risk covering up its natural markings. Generally, two coats is the maximum you should do, although very dense hardwoods may only be able to take a single coat.

It’s necessary for paint to completely dry before exposure to rain, and that drying time varies by the type of paint used. Oil-based paint takes 6 to 8 hours to dry on average, meaning that’s the minimum time needed between the last brush stroke and the first raindrop. Latex paint dries faster at around 1 hour, and acrylic paint is even quicker, usually drying in about 30 minutes. If rain is in the forecast, check the paint manufacturer's details before laying on a new coat. 

Deciding whether to stain or paint a pool deck depends on your budget, desired look, and the deck's material. Both options can work. Paint offers a wider variety of color options, provides excellent water resistance, and can last longer. However, it requires a primer and can eventually fade or peel. Stain is often cheaper, easier to apply, and penetrates the wood for a more natural look and longer-lasting finish. It also has great water resistance. The downsides are fewer color options and the need for a sealant. The choice can also depend on the deck material; for example, staining may be a better option for concrete as it bonds well and lasts longer than paint.

Satin paint is generally considered a better choice for woodwork—including trim, baseboards, cabinets, and doors—than flatter finishes like eggshell or matte. Its soft sheen enhances architectural details and stands up well to frequent cleaning and daily wear. Compared to eggshell and matte finishes, satin is more durable for high-touch areas because it is less porous and doesn't absorb dirt as easily. Matte finishes, in particular, are prone to scuffs and are harder to clean, making them less practical for surfaces like doors and cabinets.
