"I hired J Bustos to paint and stain a new set of stairs, and also stain some newly installed doors for a remodel project we are finishing. They did such a good job we also hired them to paint the outside of our home. This team was excellent. They did high quality work and took care of our property. They also took the time we needed to pick out the paint colors we really wanted, and best of all, they always followed up with us to make sure that we were happy with the end result. I really appreciated their approach when they came to bid the job: two experienced professionals looking over everything and they gave me a lot of great information about our options. They invest a lot of time in prep - don't hire them if you are looking for a slapdash job done quickly. But if you need a job done right, definitely call them for an estimate! Rudy and Juan treated us very courteously and all their workers are pros (thanks, Raul!) I wanted to share one specific story. Rudy was there during the prep phase wearing his white painters clothes. My son, age 11, asked him, "Why do you wear white every day? Do they make you?" Rudy replied, "No, nobody makes me wear all white - I choose to wear this because I am a professional." That spoke volumes to me."

"The crew did a very good job on the work.  Very detailed oriented, no carelessness seen in the painting, trim lines were sharp and well done.  I was able to watch the crew a couple days near the end of the day and they were walking around carefully checking their work to make sure nothing was missed, touching up spots that needed work and didn't seem in a hurry to leave just because the day was close to an end.  On the last day they even took a moment to fix a loose door handle on a storm door that they came across that I hadn't noticed.
As far as cost comparison, the quotes for the work was in the middle of the range from the other operators but this isn't a completely apples to oranges comparison as Action Painting and Repair's quote on the painting project had more detail on the prep work and included some carpentry repair cost upfront whereas the other operators statement of work and cost quote was more vague and just seemed to be painting and power washing.  The quote cost for the gutter install was in line with other quotes I received.
Importantly, the owner/operator, Matthew White, promptly returned phone calls and emails and also showed up for quotes and work reviews when he said he would.  His crews showed up when they said they would and never left a mess behind. 
This is contrast to the three other operators I contacted for quotes.  One didn't return my call for a week, after I had selected Action Painting and another no called no showed for the first contact quote.

"Mr. Reese was very professional. He checked the house for necessary repairs before beginning the job and provided various options for repairs. He replaced soffits, caulked, repaired or replaced damaged wood, painted wrought iron, removed and replaced shutters, removed gutters and patched roof. "Everything went exactly as David said it would. While the shingles were being replaced, the installers noted that the original builder had used pine trim on the chimney housing and they were rotting. David replaced the trim with cedar (which it should have been originally) and some of the siding at a cost of the materials only. David monitored the work frequently, although his crew is very experienced and didn't need much supervision. I was very impressed with how David explained the extra things that he was doing that many roofers skip. I had complete confidence that I was going to get the most professional work available and that is what David gave me."
