"Stay away from this bunch !!! This group has done business as C1 Construction, CW Construction and other names with Charles "Chuck" Wynne being behind it. They contracted to build a new house and part way through decided to raise the price. When we said no Chuck walked off the job. Notice they're not an Angi certified pro? He's conned multiple people and has a date with the Oklahoma criminal court system. Something to be aware of with this and other contractors - You have to check what they actually have if they claim to be "Bonded and Insured". In Oklahoma that means they're insured for accidents by their employees and bonded to pay Oklahoma fines for building violations. It doesn't protect customers at all."

Usually, french doors are more secure because they have a better locking system and a wider frame that allows for a more robust lock. Most modern, standard doors are 1 ⅜-inches thick, so you should aim for this thickness unless you're building a door to replace an antique door or fit into a non-standard wall opening. Thickness varies when installing a pocket door or sliding barn door, so a good rule of thumb is to measure your existing door, if possible. For standard doors, you can also measure from the inside of the door to the door stop to gauge the proper thickness.

If you want to let in plenty of sunlight while keeping your home well insulated, your best bet is a patio-style door with two doors with full-view windows, including one primary door and one secondary door behind it, such as a screen door or storm door. This two-door system will let in plenty of natural light while maximizing insulation.

Soft-close hinges are worth it if the benefits are a top priority. The biggest benefit of soft-close hinges is that they reduce stress on the cabinet frames, and extending the longevity of these pricey furnishings is a worthwhile investment. Plus, fixing noisy kitchen cabinets helps protect kids with careless fingers, reduces marks on the frames, and creates a quieter living space.

Spacing a door is tricky since you need to leave enough of a gap for the door to move freely and not get stuck when the slab and frame contract and expand in dry and humid conditions. The ideal gap between a doorframe and slab is 1/8 of an inch. If the gap is any larger, the door will feel drafty. But if the gap is any smaller, the slab can get stuck due to weather changes.
