Small jobs welcome

"JJ and his helper, Nia, did a fantastic job of cutting down and removing a very large dead tree from my yard. They took their time to ensure they didn't get hurt and didn't damage my house and swimming pool area. I will be contacting Burlton Landscapes and Tree for any work in my yard that comes up in the future I would gladly recommend them to anyone looking for any type of tree work."

"I was very happy with their service. When I originally called they got back to me within a day and set up a time for the estimate. We scheduled a time the same week. I was on a deadline by my HOA to remove the tree and they made sure to get it all done in time. It was about 2 weeks after the estimate. They removed the tree and came back and ground up the stump. It looks great now.

"The owner was extremely professional and certainly understands the meaning of customer service. They cut down 2 huge trees that were hanging out over our roof. Very artfully cut them down without ever touching our roof or patio. Cleared up and hauled everything away. Would give them a 10 rating if it was available!!!"

"AMAZING experience. I would definitely recommend Sawdust Tree Expert. I had a fairly large tree that needed to be removed, they gave me a very fair quote, and did an amazing job. In no time at all the tree was down and all the branches were gone. Absolutely blown away by their professionalism, their attention to details and their work ethics. Not to mention they were pleasant to speak with....I felt very pleased when they were done."

"We chose Eric and his partner for several projects including putting up a new fence and cutting down a huge tree that was inches away from our house and close to the sheds. We were happy to know he is insured. Nothing was damaged and the tree was reduced to a stump on each he poured a chemical to ensure it would stop growing. Eric did a great job getting rid of the old fence and the many vines that had grown everywhere along the fence line. He was very transparent with the costs for materials and put up the new fence in one day. He kept us informed at every stage and asked for payment when the projects were completed. I would totally recommend his services."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

If you want to take your tree-planting hobby beyond your outdoor space, here are a few great ways to do it:

  • Encourage your neighbors to participate in the Arbor Day Foundation’s Tree City USA program, which has a four-step framework that helps communities grow and maintain their own tree cover.

  • Support businesses that plant trees.

  • Lobby your local government to plant more trees around your community.

  • Donate to a tree-planting charity.

You may be looking to identify maple trees to use for home improvement projects. In that case, you can tell hard maples by looking at their leaves. Leaves will have a U-shaped dip, or sinus, between the points, or lobes, of the leaves. Leaves of soft maples tend to have V-shaped sinuses.

If you already have the cut wood in front of you, look for a light, uniform color to identify hard maple wood and check for variations of red, gray, or brown streaks and an overall darker color in soft maple wood.

In most ways, palm trees are incredibly low-maintenance. They don’t need a ton of water—which is why they’re so beloved in desert regions—and they basically prune themselves. But they do need an ample supply of sunlight and to be in soil that will allow for proper drainage so that their roots don’t become waterlogged and at risk of developing illnesses.

If the plant begins to wilt, develop spots, or change color, these could all be signs that your palm tree has a disease. But a few basic treatments, like pruning and applying fungicide, will usually be more than enough to return it to perfect health.

Your neighbor is not in a good position to know if your trees are truly dead or pose any kind of danger. That’s why hiring an arborist or tree service expert can be such an important part of the process. If the trees are still alive and don’t pose any threat, you’re in the clear (but you may want to document and photograph everything in case events turn sour down the road).

But if a tree is visibly dead and near the property line, you should remove it to be safe. If a dead tree falls on a neighbor’s property, they may have grounds to sue for negligence. If any branches on trees have died, it’s a good idea to cut them back for similar reasons.

Service costs depend on several factors, including the system's age, type, and size, as well as the complexity of the repair. Labor costs and whether replacement parts are necessary also play a significant role.
