"AMAZING experience. I would definitely recommend Sawdust Tree Expert. I had a fairly large tree that needed to be removed, they gave me a very fair quote, and did an amazing job. In no time at all the tree was down and all the branches were gone. Absolutely blown away by their professionalism, their attention to details and their work ethics. Not to mention they were pleasant to speak with....I felt very pleased when they were done."

"A storm brought down our big tree and we were forced to find someone who could chop it up and haul it as we are so busy. We contacted this company and Van got it out of there in no time at a very reasonable price. Great Service! Highly recommended. Thank you for your service brother!"

"He has done a variety of outdoor tasks for me: landscaping, tree work, and built a fence-scape. His customer service is amazing! He has a lot of integrity, he makes sure you are satisfied with his work, does the job the right way, and if he is delayed or anything that changes from your conversations, he calls and texts to keep you updated. Overall he is a very friendly and nice person to work with."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

The best tool to cut trees is a chain saw. You can adjust your chain saw to the correct size based on the size of the branches, offering you the fastest and cleanest cut for medium- to large-sized trees. Depending on the type of chainsaw you use, you can cut through larger trees than you would with a more manual tool like an ax.

Palm trees will not regrow from a stump once the tree has been cut down. This type of tree is unique because the root and stump system will slowly decay after the tree is gone, unlike other species that can regrow. That’s why it’s preferable to remove dead or decaying palm tree stumps quickly as they can become an eyesore and don’t offer future growing potential.

A few signs a tree may be dead is if the leaves are dead and there are no signs of new blooms. You can also perform a scratch test on some of the branches to check the condition of the cambium layer beneath the bark.

If it is green, it is still alive, but if several are dry, brittle, and brown, the tree may be dying or dead. Always consult an arborist before assuming your tree is dead because you may be able to save it.

Generally, you’ll want to avoid pruning more than 25% of the tree’s canopy at one time. While pruning your tree is important, it’s possible to do it too often or to go too far. Again, this is why hiring a tree trimming pro to do the work is wise. However, if you do decide to DIY, going slow and trimming gradually is the name of the game.

The best time to trim trees is in late fall through winter when the tree has slowed its growing for the year. Cold weather stops insects and fungal growth from attacking a new tree wound. Summer and fall are considered the worst times to trim trees, but it’s permissible in certain scenarios, such as tree disease, damaged branches, or small, aesthetic cuts.
