I called nationwide moving at the beginning of July. I spoke with Alison, which was in there GA branch, and asked if they were affiliated with the Florida branch, I had read reviews that the FL department was not good, she assured me they were not connected with them. I got a bid for the move and they gave me a pick up date for July 29th. I was told they would let me know on August 9th if it would be dropped off on the 10th or 11th. She quoted me $1464.73 for my one bedroom Apartment. Once they loaded my entire apartment up they came back with a bill that was over $500.00 more than what she told me (keep in mind I didn?t add anything to the move. It was exactly what she quoted me) all the movers said was pay what you can there is nothing we can do and no one you can call-keep in mind all my things were already on the truck when I was notified they were adding $500 to the bill. I told him I didn?t budget for this because I had not changed anything. They said nothing can be done, your stuff is loaded and there isn't anyone to call. He said pay what I could now and deal with it on delivery. The delivery day came and went and when I called every number listed sent me to the same department, which was rude and would give me no information and most of my calls went to voicemail. After calling countless times Sam, who was supposedly the dispatch manager, told me my things were in Atlanta. After I told him they should have been here by now and that I needed my things delivered. He said it was within his legal rights to back out of the contract and I could come get my stuff from storage in Atlanta. I then had to get an attorney involved to send notice to him for the information regarding where the storage was located, he finally gave me the address, but no number or name. I had no idea when they were open, if they had told anyone to give me my things, or if there was a person at this, so called facility. Now I had to try to figure out how to get my things from a place I wasn't sure even existed, the lies were too numerous at this point to know if my stuff was there or even in Atlanta. I kept calling and when I finally get Sam to answer he tells me my stuff that was supposedly at a storage facility in GA, has left and should be there in 3-4 days. My stuff never arrived and I began calling again, looking for my stuff. A couple weeks go by, of me calling and no answer, calling and being told I would be called back, and leaving messages when I finally get someone to answer and I ask where my stuff is.I'm told that the truck broke down in Jackson, Mississippi. Not believing him I ask for the number to the truck repair shop in Jackson and he gave me a number, I call and it was a Volvo dealership.. I call this dealership and he says they do not work on trucks!! I'm furious and I call Sam back and he says the dealership is lying to me they do work on trucks and assured me that it would be to my place in Oklahoma in no time. A week and half goes by and I?m still trying to figure out where my stuff is. He says another truck is on its way to pick the load up and will be to Oklahoma soon. Another week goes by and he finally says my stuff will be delivered on September 15th keep in mind they have now had my stuff for 49 days!!! So the driver pulls up and said sorry it took so long I just picked your stuff up in Miami Florida!! I said it was supposed to be in Mississippi this whole time.. he said all I know is I picked your stuff up in Miami Florida on September 14th. I sign & pay for my stuff because they would not unload until I paid. Come to find out the Guy (he would not give me his name) worked for Mayflower Van lines and said Sam begged him to come get this load. Once the driver got to Florida to pick up my stuff he could tell all my stuff was damaged, so he refused the delivery. He told me sam upped the pay so he would take the delivery! After everything was unloaded every piece of my furniture was damaged all my tubs (that were expensive) were damaged ,my mirror, my clothes that were in my tubs were all dirty with something black all over them, there was the same black substance on my bed, along with two water stains, and other items were missing! This has been a moving nightmare. If it says Nationwide Moving -BEWARE they are tied together and they are awful!!!!! Hank Henry came to our home and reviewed our project and asked many questions about what we wanted. He's a very competent guy and did a good job to understand our needs. He built a proposal for us a week later and I went to their showroom to review it. They are professional operation with all of the potential elements on display for you to see and select. We made our selections and had him update his proposal accordingly. The price of course did rise (there is only one direction with most pool companies so negotiate hard BEFORE you sign a contract. We reviewed proposals from 6 other pool companies and eliminated most almost immediately. It came down to three strong contenders, Riverbend, Advance and Gold Medal Pools. All three had good recommendations and made very professional proposals. The prices for the project ranged from over $100K to $65 for the stripped down version (so yes, there are big differences in price). Riverbend fell roughly in the middle and they were willing to move on price to meet where we wanted to be. Advance (Brian) Pools is a much smaller company, but very competent so would absolutely consider them in the future, but in the case they were not very competitive in terms of the product offering compared to the two larger companies. In reviewing their proposal, I would highlight following strengths: - 1/2" Rebar (much stronger than the 3/8" that most pool companies use) - Very competent in terms of equipment offering (I personally like Jandy) - Smart approach to plumbing your pool by running pipes through a single trench so they are easier to service -Design in terms of Spa - recommended a Captain's Chair (4 jet chair) in the spa, which was a great idea. -Most of the people who would work on your pool are their employees (higher accountability), but still some contractors (ask this question) -They use dry gunite, which is shot in place (stronger) -Gravel rock base instead of just sand and they build walls on own footing (not on deck) Weaknesses: -They tend to use the cheaper rocks and boulders for copping (Oklahoma River & Flagstone) instead of Arkansas, which is harder -Hank is a nice guy, but got a bit impatient with us toward the end and was ready to move on to the next customer -Design was not as good as some of the others (less creative) and they did not have the 3d modeling demo that most places use, which really helps you visualize what its going to look like. -they push Salt systems, which have more reliability issues and require more maintenance for your rocks and decking Ultimately, it was a very tough decision and I feel we would have likely been happy if we had gone with them as they are quality company. Interestingly, when we made the decision to go with their competitor I held off communicating to them for a few days in case anything went wrong (which we know can happen) and I never heard from Hank. I would have thought he would contact me to find out what I was doing, but never heard from him. Made me feel a little better about our decision though. I would have shared this feedback with him as well. Ultimately, I would say they are a quality organization and if you like their design then you could do a lot worse than working with them. A couple of tips for people building pools: -Negotiate the sewer and gas reroute into the cost of the pool (unless you are 100% sure its not going to be touched as it will) -Negotiate ANYTHING you think you want upfront as the day you sign the contract, EVERY change costs you. -Over estimate your decking as you will want more, trust me. It doesn't cost anything to reduce it later as the cost is 2X once you agree to move forward... -Review the plans in detail, THEY ALL PROMISE things that don't show up in the plan. Over-clarify and GET IT IN WRITING! They quickly "forget" what they promised to do. I have had to do a couple times already... -IT will take longer than you think, it always does...6 weeks? No way, 8-10 weeks is far more realistic if its an intricate pool. -Negotiate any landscaping repair you want UP FRONT, or you will get your yard back looking like a moonscape...they do not replace grass unless you specifically ask in the contract... -All pool companies try to get as much up front as possible, keep in mind that you want to hold back about 10% to make sure they finish the job. They will push back, but will take the work and you get piece of mind that it gets done. FAQs for gravel driveway repair projects in Antlers, OK
The average cost of a gravel driveway is about $1.25 to $2 per square foot, including the cost of materials, equipment, and professional installation. For example, a 16-by-30-foot driveway costs about $1,500. Cost factors include the type of gravel, how thick the gravel is installed, the condition of the landscape, and labor costs. Overall costs will vary depending on where you live and how accessible the job site is.
Concrete can crack from general wear, improper installation, or in response to uneven support from the soil underneath. Small, thin cracks on the surface of aging concrete are usually a result of normal wear and tear, while cracks on new concrete more likely indicate a problem with installation. Larger cracks or uneven steps can signify a much more severe issue. A concrete contractor should be able to diagnose the cause and repair concrete cracks for you.
The cost to install a concrete driveway is $4 to $15per square foot on average. Your price heavily depends on your desired concrete finish and driveway size.
For a driveway that is 200 square feet, you can expect to pay an average cost of $1,900. For a driveway at double that size (400 square feet), the average price is closer to $3,800. Plain concrete is significantly more cost-effective, averaging $7 per square foot, whereas stained concrete averages around $19 per square foot.
The cost of resurfacing concrete is $6 per square foot on average, though that cost can range from $3 to $9per square foot.
For a driveway that is 200 square feet, you can expect to pay $600 to $1,800, and for a driveway that is 500 square feet, that cost averages $1,500 to $4,500. Resurfacing your driveway will give you the look and feel of a new surface without the hefty cost.
A gravel driveway should be at least 4 to 6 inches deep, depending on the soil it’s installed on. Softer soil that doesn’t drain well should have a deeper gravel driveway. Deeper gravel will mean you spend more on materials and labor, but you’ll get a more stable driveway and avoid damage that needs to be filled or graded flat again.
