"I am not pleased with the service I received! They damaged my waterline and stated someone would be out to fix it. It's been 9 months and no one will return my calls nor have they come to fix what they damaged! They ruined my lawn and never came back to replace the soil they dug up! They ruined my basement floor and I had to replace my entire floor! They said they would be out to test the sump pump and drains that were installed, again, it's been 9 months and no one has followed up with me! I'm really concerned that the lifetime warranty they say I have even exists!"

"Well, I should have checked the Angies List reviews before we hired them. They did come out promptly but then took nearly a month to provide us with a report that not only had numerous mistakes, but it came to conclusions that we knew were not correct. In addition to recommending nearly $20,000 of repairs. Paid them $600. We have since done our research and hired another structural engineer, Jim Wright, from Western Reserve Home Inspection who came out promptly, provided a report within a few days and provided the structural "details" that we needed to go back to the builder with. See our review on this 2nd inspection. As for Cramer -- would NOT recommend. In fact, I'm annoyed with AL -- because I thought I was searching for engineers in the first search box of the website like i used to -- and then could look at all the reviews. Instead, it took me though a series of questions and then the "PROS" reached out to us. I assumed these were vetted (i.e., ratings of a B or better). NOT SO. Now I see that Cramer has a number of D and F ratings. Hard, expensive lesson to learn."

Trusses and rafters each have advantages and disadvantages, so one isn’t necessarily better than the other. For example, trusses are more affordable and often come in prefabricated kits, so they’re easier to build than rafters. The depth of any foundation style depends on your climate and how deep the frost line is, as building code requires that the footers of a foundation—which are built into a monolithic slab—sit at least a foot below the frost line. At the southern tip of Florida, for example, a monolithic slab foundation would only need to sit 12 inches under the soil at the widest parts. On some parts of the Canadian border, the frost line is 100 inches, which would mean a minimum of 112 inches, which is prohibitively deep for a monolithic slab.

Cathedral ceilings make a statement in your home, but at the cost of your attic space. Normal attics are wide open, which allows warm air to move around and exit your home. Because of this, cathedral ceilings make your home less energy efficient and put your ceiling at risk of venting issues if you’re not careful.
