"I wouldnâ t go near anyone else for insulation. Andrewâ s price was much lower and his expertise much higher. Andrew spray-foamed our ~4,000-square-foot home. His bid came in some $5,000 less than competitors, partly because as he convincingly showed me, other insulators are typically spraying far more than needed. I also did not want to spray directly on our 1880s-era wood siding or sheathing as spray foam is notorious for trapping moisture and leading to rot in wood. But he figured out a solution to create a 1-inch air gap behind the spray foam to allow that wood siding to dry out when moist.
