Small jobs welcome

"Great job! The electrician did exactly what I had asked. I had an overhead light roughed-in for a finished room. He made the smallest a fewest holes possible to run the wiring. This made patching very easy. I will happily use Columbus Breeze Electric again."

"I'm very happy with the work. Cory arrived on the scheduled date and completed the exhaust fan swap in less than 2 hrs. he cleaned up any mess from the install and rewired the fan to work independent from the vent. I would definitely use Farmer Home Solutions again!"

"We just purchased a new condo and wanted to have ceiling fans installed into 3 rooms.  One room has a nine foot ceiling, one has a tray ceiling and one has a vaulted ceiling.  We purchased the fans, but did not purchase the drop down poles since we were not sure on the length.  Speedy Electric sent two men out to install the fans - they called the office to let them know the length of the poles that were needed.  The owner (Keith Speed) went out and got the poles and delivered them to the condo.  The work was done expertly, they cleaned up afterwards and we are now enjoying the fans!  We have now used Speedy Electric three times and have been happy all three times.

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

Since the cost of installing a ceiling fan is $250 for most homeowners, it might be beneficial to replace your existing fan if you are experiencing a significant repair issue, like a broken motor. However, for less expensive repairs, like a fan blade replacement, you’ll likely spend less on the repair than a complete fan replacement. Of course, if you’re looking for an upgrade or a new style fan, replacing it altogether is always an option.

Coffered ceilings often come with additional embellishments and accessories, including tin panels, medallions, trim, molding, recessed lights, and finials. Whether you’re looking for a simple grid pattern or want an elaborate, decorative ceiling with all the bells and whistles, there are plenty of options to choose from.

Keeping dust off fans can keep them working optimally and help keep dust mites or bacteria from building up. Dust fans weekly with a duster, microfiber cloth, old pillowcase, or vacuum attachment. You can also try spraying a clean fan with a store-bought dust-repellent product or making a DIY dust-repellent with water and a small amount of liquid fabric softener mixed in.

Many ceiling fan mounts feature a design that can accommodate slight slopes by using a ball joint mechanism at the end of the downrod. If your ceiling has a steeper slope than your fan allows for, you can install a downrod that will allow your fan to safely hang below the slope.

There are many types of ceiling fans available, each designed for different spaces and needs. Standard ceiling fans are the most common type and work well in most rooms. Low-profile ceiling fans are better suited for rooms with low ceilings. Smart ceiling fans can be controlled with a smartphone or voice commands. For larger spaces with ceilings between 10 and 25 feet high, large ceiling fans are ideal. Dual-motor fans have two motors to produce more airflow in multiple directions. You can also find energy-efficient or Energy-Star models that can be up to 60% more efficient, as well as fans with built-in lights or retractable blades.
