"TPM is an excellent company to do business with. They built my fence on the property just after I bought it so that I had a run for my dogs. Fence and three gates are very solid and one of them is large enough for my 48” riding mower. In other words the work they do is customized to your needs. They also built my 24’X 36’ workshop and I could not be happier with it. My only regret is that I did not have TPM pour the concrete slab as they would have done that work cheaper and the quality would have been far better. TPM just recently added a 10’X24’ lean to shed for my workshop so that I can now store my tractor out of the weather. There is nothing I would not trust TPM to do for me and I would give them the highest recommendation. Really good people doing excellent work!!!"

Fencing questions, answered by experts

In Trenton, start each spring by checking for frost heave, loose posts, and winter debris. Summer is ideal for washing the fence, inspecting for insect damage, and lubricating gate hardware. In fall, reseal wood and clear leaves to prevent moisture buildup. During winter, look for ice accumulation and storm damage. This routine helps your fence withstand Trenton’s humid summers and cold, shifting winters.

Helpful?

During a fencing project in Trenton, property lines and setbacks are carefully verified, often requiring a property survey. Soil stability is checked because Trenton’s clay-rich ground affects post stability, especially after heavy rain. Drainage patterns and low spots are reviewed to prevent water pooling near the fence. Proximity to underground utilities and adherence to local codes or HOA rules are also closely evaluated.

Helpful?

In Trenton, most fencing installations are completed within two to five days, depending on fence type and property size. Privacy fences may take longer due to extra posts and panels, while chain link fences often go up faster. Trenton’s clay soil can slow digging, and unpredictable spring rains may cause brief delays. Allow three to five business days for permit approval before starting your project.

Helpful?

For fencing projects in Trenton, keep essentials like a post-hole digger, level, measuring tape, and sturdy gloves. Have a wire brush, sandpaper, and mildew cleaner for routine fence maintenance. Stock up on rust-resistant paint, wood stain, galvanized fasteners, concrete mix, and replacement boards. These supplies help address Trenton’s clay soil, humid summers, and freeze-thaw cycles, ensuring your fence stays sturdy and attractive year-round.

Helpful?

In Trenton, schedule fencing projects if you see leaning posts, warped or broken boards, or rusted hardware. Persistent mildew, peeling paint, or gray weathering signal the need for fence maintenance. If your fence is over 15 years old or needs frequent repairs, replacement may be wise. The best time for major work is late spring through early fall, when weather conditions are most favorable.
