"I estimate I have just under $100k in electronics and appliances in my house. We have significant lightning storms in my location. To NOT have lightning suppression installed is significant risk in my mind based on my location in New Jersey. RS LIGHTNING PROTECTION was responsive with a quick cost estimate and a reasonable price based on my research for installation. By the way...installation is part art, such as bends in cable are not more than 90 degrees. It's not just about running grounded cables. This installation in conjunction with surge protection on my electrical panel performed by my electrician and cable protection gives me significant piece of mind that all my appliances and electronics are protected from lightning and any potential surge generated by a near strike. Mr Richard Sherlock knows his subject. Highly recommended. Five stars."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Tipp City homeowners should tailor their inspection routine to local weather and home age. After winter, check outdoor outlets and GFCIs for moisture from snowmelt. In summer, monitor electrical panels for heat buildup, especially in older homes. Fall is ideal for inspecting attic and garage wiring for rodent activity. Winter is a good time to test sump pump circuits and ensure basement outlets are protected from moisture.

In Tipp City, the timeline for electrical projects depends on the project’s scope and local housing characteristics. Panel upgrades in homes built before 1980 often take 1–2 days, while rewiring a typical 1,500–2,000 sq ft Tipp City home may require 3–5 days. Adding new circuits or outlets usually takes several hours each. Permit processing and seasonal weather—especially spring storms—can affect overall timelines.

Helpful?

Completing electrical projects in Tipp City provides immediate safety improvements and greater convenience, such as safer outlets and reliable power. Over the long term, these upgrades can boost property value, reduce the need for emergency repairs, and may even lower insurance premiums. Modernizing your electrical system ensures your home meets current safety codes and is ready for future technologies, which is especially valuable in Tipp City’s active housing market.

Helpful?

Tipp City homeowners should watch for flickering lights, frequent breaker trips, or warm outlets—especially in homes built before 1980, where outdated wiring is common. Discolored outlet covers, persistent burning odors, or outlets that spark are red flags. Basement moisture and signs of rodent damage in attics can also indicate hidden electrical hazards. Prompt attention from a qualified electrical contractor can prevent more extensive repairs or safety risks.

Helpful?

In Tipp City, homeowners increasingly request smart home automation, including programmable switches and USB outlets. Energy-efficient upgrades like LED recessed lighting and solar-ready wiring are in demand, especially in newer developments. Low-voltage landscape lighting and under-cabinet LEDs are popular for both curb appeal and safety. Many residents are also adding EV charging stations to accommodate electric vehicles as part of their electrical contractor projects.
