"We interviewed 3 other companies for a large project of removing an old driveway and rear patio and were not happy with or confident the other companies had our best interest in mind ,they wanted us to sign a contract to get guaranteed work which is kinda expected with the demand of good contractors but we just didn't feel confident with the others ,from the day we met wayne and he explained in detail what he was giving us we new we met the right guy ,he has an amazing crew with hands down the most respect for his clients and there satisfaction then you can imagine, our project is finished and it's more then we could have imagined, he's definitely the first and only person we will ever call for any future projects ,hes a rare find and we are fortunate to have found him â â â â â"

"John and his crew are a real class act. He was honest, up front, timely, efficient, kind and affordable. He was able to offer top of the line product that a lot of other contracters couldn't at a reasonable price, with a warranty on his work. From set up to clean up, it was a painless process. J&V is a well oiled machine and the only business we would consider for future similar needs."

"They were fantastic. The price was fair and honest, high quality work, and the communication was fantastic. I like that I was able to choose my own materials and helped me stay in my personal budget. The crew was fantastic. They were on time, they cleaned up, they were creative, and if there's an obstacle they were able to find a solution. I love the fact that ACC Contracting is a one stop shop."

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can draw your own deck plans in many cases. However, you must know your local building codes and be familiar with carpentry principles. Even then, it's always best to run your plans by a professional contractor with experience building decks, whether you choose to DIY some of the build or not.

A pool builder can advise you on the best design for your property and vision, and can walk you through the process from design to a swim-ready pool. Knowing which questions to ask a pool builder can help ensure you choose the right person for the job.

Yes, new home construction will always require building permits, no matter where you live. In most cases, you’ll need a general construction permit, along with plumbing and electrical permits for the utility lines in your home. Depending on where you live, you’ll likely find that you also need permits for things like connection to a sewage system or installing exterior components, like decks, driveways, patios, and curb cutouts. Leave navigating the permits required for new home construction to a professional to ensure your home is built legally and safely.

Custom homes can take an average of 18 months to build, mainly due to the lengthy design process, and most projects take somewhere between 12 and 24 months. When you work with the right custom home builders near you, they can help you map the road ahead and understand what can speed up or delay the timeline. Choosing locally available materials, for example, can speed things up without losing that customized touch.

Universal design costs can be minimal when you add them during construction; however, adding universal design principles to existing homes can sometimes increase renovation costs. For example, a mid-grade bathroom remodel is estimated to cost around $30,000, while a standard universal design remodel can cost closer to $40,000. Adding accessible design components can include widening hallways ($500 to $2,000), curbless showers ($2,000 to $8,000), and widening doors ($400 to $800). Keep in mind that these increased costs can lead to higher resale values because universal homes may appeal to a wider variety of buyers.
