"Technician Matt Steiner was very professional and explained each step in the process. He provided a thorough summary of the AC tune up. I would recommend using Sal's Heating and AC and will be using them for all future service work. I grade them an A+."

"Fine. Jeremy and his associate were punctual, friendly, professional, understood our issue and explained how they fixed it (which made sense). This was a follow up visit and they did not charge for it. I thought it was the right thing to do, but I didn’t have to say anything—the hallmark of a good company."

"Family run business. Pride of ownership is reflected in their work. I was taken by another company. When they took my lightning rods down to get a new roof, they basically shredded my cable. Also the screws that were used by the previous installer were not correct. William pointed out the issues and worked out a fair price. I was given new lightning rods too! Oh and I received a weather vane. Here it is storming and lightning today and I feel very safe. So glad to have worked with this company!"

"I am trying to trouble shoot problem of water infiltration into basement following rain storms.  Scott came out to the house and ran cameras into external drains from all downspouts to help determine possible causes of problem.  He was very personable, professional, and knowledgeable.  He gave many helpful suggestions to help me  to make some informed decisions related to the problem.  I would definitely call him again if needed.

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

Drawing your own floor plans is acceptable for many kinds of projects, including interior design and room layout. You can use floor plan software to create the plans but keep in mind that the floor plan will only be as accurate as the measurements you take and enter into the software.

Federal architecture is most common in urban areas throughout the New England states, including the older parts of New York, Pennsylvania (namely, Boston and Philadelphia), Maryland, Massachusetts, and Virginia. The style also dominated in parts of Georgia in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, so many historical homes in the area embody this home design. Salem, MA, has two historic districts that predominantly feature this architectural style: Chestnut Street District and the Salem Maritime National Historic Site.

Mid-century modern architecture was a popular home style throughout the U.S. from the 1950s to 1970s. Most homes feature a wide and symmetrical floor plan with low-sloped roofs and floor-to-ceiling windows. Its minimalism and balanced appearance are back on the home style scene, particularly when maximizing sunlight, airflow, and a blend with the home's natural surroundings.

Yes, you can draw your own deck plans in many cases. However, you must know your local building codes and be familiar with carpentry principles. Even then, it's always best to run your plans by a professional contractor with experience building decks, whether you choose to DIY some of the build or not.

The only real drawback to green building is that it’s more expensive up front, with per-square-foot prices sitting 33% higher than what you’d pay to build a traditional home. The higher cost is due to more expensive building materials and more labor to ensure every aspect of the home is as efficient as possible. However, green buildings often save money in the long run, so this is just a temporary downside.
