We scheduled for that to be done 2 weeks ago- they took the whole thing out in one day, hauled everything away. Started off well, ended up poorly. I was impressed with Jeff's professionalism...enough that I was going to hire him despite his being the highest bid. Because of that, I referred him to my good client. He responded to that referral quickly, and his bid (for a MUCH larger job than mine) was accepted. However, my client was not gonna hire him after hearing of my experience. I urged her to go ahead with him as I felt his company were experienced and well-staffed enough to do her job. I assume he just didn't want the smaller job at my house. But it is extremely annoying to not be given the courtesy of a reply. My last email on 1/27/21 expressed my desire to get on sched asap AND the above-mentioned referral. I never got a reply but I know they got it obviously. I am self-employed & understand that there's some work you don't want. But I always call & explain if I can't take the job.

Best experience EVER! Bernie got here right on time, brought all necessary tools, even brought his own padded blanket to lay on the floor while working on fan. He was here about 45 minutes and found it was a vibration caused by not having the blower motor physically "fixed" to the metal base. Sliding the motor forward under the fire box and adding a couple pieces of two-sided velcro fixed everything! We also talked about possibly adding a second switch to control the fan instead of it being regulated by the fireplace. But after thinking about it we decided it wasn't a good idea to bypass the regulator. Anyway, after all his time, he gathered up his tools and was ready to leave. I asked how much I owed him and he said. "Nothing, because I learned a little today." He literally wouldn't let me give him anything! What a great guy! We got the fireplace fixed, everyone will be happy, and it didn't cast me a thing. We have a new handyman for all our future needs. And we'll refer him to all others.
