"I had a damp crawl space and worked through the various options and liked the OhioBasementAuthority method of encapsulation the best. The crew that did the encapsulation (Jose A, Sergio, and Ivan), although young, worked together like seasoned veterans. Each person knew what their job was at each stage of the encapsulation and the work flowed smoothly and professionally. They kept the job site clean and hustled when hauling the supplies, tools and trash to/from the truck. The final product was just what I expected and looks just like the pictures of completed jobs from the website."

"I needed to replace my front brick steps from Brick to Concrete. We have been running into loose bricks, pretty much after each winter, to the extent that I was concerned about safety of visitors (my brother-in-law fell on a loose brick). Chris and crew showed up on time (like 1 min early!). And they did a great job taking all the bricks out and pouring concrete instead to give us a peace of mind and a good looking concrete steps. Throughout the process, Chris explained to me what is going on in detail and answered all my questions. I probably asked him the same question a few times and he patiently answered my questions. Chris is a master mason with specialty in concrete. He knows what he is doing and does it well. He is humorous, generous and a gentleman. Chris (personally) spent a lot of time power washing other areas of my pavers even though that was not part of the deal. I offered to pay him for it but he refused and said "I just want the place to look gorgeous when I leave. I highly recommend Chris and his team for any concrete / cement work."

"Ron, the owner gave us an estimate and called with a proposed date to complete the project.  He did not ask for any deposit and said we could pay him when we were satisfied with the job.  On the first day they removed the old patio using a bobcat with a hydraulic hammer.  I told him that I didn't want the yard damaged so he said that he would bring the bobcat in the yard only one time and he kept his word.  The bobcat didn't do any damage.  They hauled the broken concrete through the garage utility door using a wheelbarrow.. The next day they formed the new patio and verified with my wife that they design was satisfactory.  Due to the extreme heat they decided to pour the concrete the following morning to assure a quality result.  The next day they poured the concrete using wheelbarrows.  After the concrete partially dried they applied a powder and used stamp pads and formed the design in the concrete.  Stamping concrete is a very messy job and the powder is very dusty.  The following day they came back to clean and seal the stamped concrete.  I was impressed with their knowledge of the business, their attention to detail (not damaging my yard) and their willingness to work in extreme heat.  . They were also careful to clean the house, driveway and the area at the end of each day and upon completion of the job.   "

Small jobs welcome

"They did an excellent job. Thought I would have to replace the concrete, but saved a ton by leveling. They showed up on time, and even did a couple of things not in the quote."

"Samczuk Concrete & Masonry are extremely professional, highly knowledgeable, highly skilled workers and were always on-time per their schedule/plan. The owner is excellent with timely and thorough communication and answered all our questions before and throughout the project. He was always on-site and worked along with the crew. We had a 14’x29’ concrete patio with steps installed at the rear of our home. They colored the concrete with the colors we chose. The product and work being weather dependent, the owner always communicated schedule changes in advance. Their work & concrete products are extremely high quality, warranted and very reasonably priced. We got a very high quality patio at a very reasonable price. Choosing a concrete company is stressful when friends, family and neighbors don’t have any recommendations and we definitely made the right choice with Samczuk. We highly recommend this company and will be using them again to replace our asphalt driveway. Thank you Samczuk Concrete & Masonry!"

Concrete Mudjacking questions, answered by experts

A sinking foundation can be lifted, most often by installing piers to re-level and support the weight of the house. Depending on the cause and extent of the sinking, other methods to lift a foundation include underpinning and mudjacking. Consult a foundation repair pro to determine the best way to lift your sinking foundation.

Polyjacking and mudjacking can both be effective solutions for sinking concrete, but they have key differences. Polyjacking, which uses expanding polyurethane foam, is often considered a better option because the foam is significantly lighter than the cementitious material used for mudjacking. This reduced weight puts less pressure on the underlying soil and lowers the risk of future sinking. Polyjacking is suitable for any sinking concrete slab, while mudjacking is typically only recommended for non-structural concrete, such as sidewalks, patios, pool decks, and driveways. The primary drawback of polyjacking is its cost, which can be up to four times higher than mudjacking—as much as $25 per square foot compared to a maximum of about $6 per square foot for mudjacking.

Most states and municipalities don’t require concrete mudjacking companies to carry a specific license, but they usually need to have a general contractor’s license, and they should be fully insured. The only exception is if the mudjacking company provides foundation repairs as well, or if it offers mudjacking for home foundations. In that case, they will typically need a foundation repair contractor’s license. You can check state requirements and then use Angi’s license lookup tool to confirm that a company is properly licensed to provide mudjacking services in your area.

Yes, expanding foam (also known as polyurethane foam) can lift concrete. This approach, called polyjacking, involves injecting the foam rather than concrete slurry to fill voids and raise the concrete slab back into place. It’s often faster and requires smaller drill holes than traditional mudjacking, though it may come at a higher cost. Some contractors also prefer polyjacking over mudjacking for more damaged and delicate slabs.

Mudjacking typically takes 24 to 72 hours (one to three days) to dry and cure completely before you can resume normal use. The total drying time can vary depending on the size of the project. Because the slurry mixture contains cement, it needs to harden fully to prevent the concrete slab from shifting under added weight. You should avoid walking on the concrete or placing heavy items like furniture or vehicles on the surface until it has fully set. Your concrete contractor can provide a precise timeline. As a point of comparison, if you opt for polyjacking, the polyurethane foam can dry in minutes, but it's recommended to wait about an hour before use.
