"One of the only companies to call me back. Not the best price, but reasonable for the job done. A year ago I added a white marble backsplash in my kitchen. I had updated the electrical in 2005 with a remodel, but we installed beige/almond devices to match the rest of the house. Because the new backsplash is white marble, I wanted white devices to match. I had 23 total outlets/switches, including some GFIC outlets to be changed. Job was supposed to take 3 hours, and I believe he finished a little early. Service technician was polite, clean, thorough and on-time. He covered my new counters with a canvas tarp to protect them and he cleaned each area with a small shop vac as he finished. He did a wonderful job, I'm very pleased. I did supply the devices. I purchased them on my own to make sure I got what I wanted. He even replaced a few cover plates to match the others I already had. Seems I had missed a few in my original sweep after the backsplash was installed. AND, even though the original appointment was on 7/3, he couldn't do the job and would have to come back. He returned the following day, 7/4, even though it was 4th of July, and let me know that they work 24/7 with no extra charge for evenings or weekends. I would highly recommend this company if you need an electrician. I will hire them again if the need arises."

Setting up utilities on a vacant property usually takes at least a few months, or between 6 weeks to 16 weeks. This process requires working with the local planning and zoning department, hiring a building contractor or engineer to design the utility layout, securing permits, laying the lines, and connecting the utilities.

If you have a transfer switch properly installed, the generator and main electrical power cannot feed the system at the same time. However, you should still shut off the power at your main circuit breaker panel before activating the generator. You can determine what size generator you need for a transfer switch by matching the switch to the largest outlet on your generator. Larger generators can power up to 10 circuits, while most 5,000-watt generators can provide power to six circuits. So, if your generator’s largest outlet is 30 amps, you’ll need a 30-amp transfer switch.

You can expect a diesel generator to last for up to 30,000 hours of use, which works out to 20 to 25 years with the proper maintenance, of course. That depends on how much you use it, so a diesel generator used for emergencies a couple of times a year will last a lot longer than a generator that takes over for a faulty electrical grid every month for a day or two.

Ideally, you’ll want a generator that can offer both the necessary running watts and starting watts for everything you need to power without going beyond 90% of its capacity.
