"I would recommend this company to do any home improvement they provide. Zach and Rath was wonderful to work with. They were polite and courteous, answered all my questions, they were on time and never stop until the project was complete to my satisfaction. They did not even take a lunch break."

"Upon arrival, Kevin made it very clear that he wanted to work with both my wife and I to get all of our ideas, and then design the best plan of action for the redoing the flooring in the main floor of our home.  He took his time to go through at least 4 or 5 different scenarios of how we might accomplish our goals.  He presented a number of different options solid hardwood, engineered hardwood and even some premium laminates.  The same detail and thoroughness was provided when looking at carpeting options.
Overall both my wife and I were very impressed with Kevin's approach to the flooring sales process.  It was clear from the beginning that he wanted to find a way to make us happy within our budget.  And he even went as far as offering up lower cost alternatives just so we had the full picture of what we could accomplish with our budget.  Truly a refreshing experience from the sales perspective.
I am looking forward to receiving the final design and quote options from Kevin.  Will come back and write a follow-up at that point.

"This company was great! They did everything they said they would do. On time, professional and the quality of work was excellent!
They even corrected one of the carpenters errors so the finished project was what I hoped for.  I have 2 other projects  coming up soon and I plan to use them again.

Residential Design questions, answered by experts

While the terms 'interior designer' and 'interior decorator' are often used interchangeably, they represent distinct professions with some overlapping work. The primary difference lies in the scope of their projects.

An interior decorator focuses on the aesthetics of a space, making less permanent decisions about decor. Their work involves selecting colors, fabrics, furniture, wall art, paint, and other finishes to 'dress' a room and enhance its style.

An interior designer has a broader scope that includes a decorator's aesthetic focus but also extends to the structural and functional aspects of a space. Designers are qualified to plan layouts, make structural changes, and manage overall functionality. They handle permanent decisions regarding fixtures like cabinets and bathtubs, establish floor plans, and may hire contractors.

Due to the technical skills required, interior designers typically have formal education, certification, and may hold a license, which can result in higher fees. As a general rule, it is best to hire an interior designer for major remodeling projects and an interior decorator for projects focused on establishing or refreshing a home's interior style.

Whether hiring an interior designer is worth the cost depends on your budget, the scope of the project, and your own design and project management skills. For larger projects or those beyond your DIY skills, an interior designer is often a worthwhile investment. The benefits include realizing the best layout, functionality, and decor for your lifestyle and taste; managing the project to keep it on track and within budget; serving as a point of contact for contractors; accessing discounts from suppliers; and assisting with home staging for a sale.

Yes, staging a home really works and can help your home sell faster, potentially for a higher price than if you did not use a home staging service. According to the National Association of Realtors, 48% of seller’s agents reported home staging decreased a home’s time on the market.

Plus, 20% of buyer’s and seller’s agents claimed home staging increased home sale prices by 1% to 5%. Although decluttering and cleaning help a home sell, staging can take your home’s curb appeal to the next level, helping to expedite the process and increase your profit.

A Jack and Jill bathroom is not considered an en suite bathroom. An en suite bathroom is a private bathroom connected to one room, like a primary bedroom. A Jack and Jill bathroom connects two rooms and has two entrances, so it’s not entirely private.

It depends on the scope of the project and your confidence in your own design capabilities. If you’re simply replacing a few appliances or want to change the cabinetry, you most likely do not need a designer. If you’re doing a full reno, you should bring in a pro unless you have a very strong design sense and want to spend hours laboring over the various technical details.
