"I had a broken window. They came out to provide a free estimate same day as did several other companies. Window Gurus fixed my window and replaced 2 others (I had moisture in them but had been putting off replacement) at HALF THE COST. Their actual price ended up being even less then the quote AND Window Guru scheduled and COMPLETED THE JOB A WEEK SOONER than anyone else told me they could. Less than 48 hours vs 7-10 days."

"We replaced the windows in our 1933 home through the services of MadCity Windows. From the initial contact with their sales representative to final installation, the company provided top notch professional work. With the draft from the old windows and the cold of the glass, we are already saving on our energy bills. Our house had old, large windows, so they had to be custom made. As an industrial designer and interior designer, we find our windows to be of excellent quality."

"Team from Power completed the work on time and cleaned up well after work was completed. Windows were measured correctly so replacement windows fit perfectly and were quality Pella windows versus no-name windows offered by other vendors."

"Amazing company. We needed 13 windows re-screened and had the hardest time finding a company willing to do the job. Tim didn t hesitate and was willing to take the job. He was easy to communicate with and the work was top notch! We will contact this company again whenever we need anything at all done. He shared pictures of recent remodels of kitchens and baths that were gorgeous! They do it all!"

Windows questions, answered by experts

Installing bifold windows can take anywhere from three or four hours to several days. Smaller bifold windows that open vertically and fit inside your existing wall opening should take just a few hours and no longer than a day. Larger bifold windows, especially wider ones, may require structural work before your professional can install the window. The installation could take two to three days, depending on how much work your wall needs.

In short, it depends. After 20 years, the glass in your windows is less energy efficient, which can cause increased electricity bills. You might also see signs of water damage or natural wear and tear over the years. However, with proper maintenance, some window frames can last up to 50 years, so you may only need to replace the glass to save on energy.

At the same time, window replacement is a major investment, so replacing the glass in rooms most impacted by outdoor temperatures is one way to avoid going all-in to replace your windows.

Windows provide light and a view of the outdoors without the inconveniences that the outside world can come with, like noise, rain, snow, and unpleasant scents. Vinyl windows also provide energy efficiency thanks to their insulating properties, keeping your home at its coziest temperature no matter what season it is. They’re also excellent noise dampeners, so your interior space can stay calm and quiet.

Installing energy-efficient windows costs between $325 and $2,000, averaging about $400 per window. You’ll have to consider cost factors like the window’s size, frame material, and type. Labor costs in your area will also impact the overall cost of the project, with window installation professionals charging about $40 per hour on average. Different types of energy-efficient windows include:

  • Single-hung: $150–$2,500

  • Casement: $150–$600

  • Double-hung: $250–$3,000

  • Picture: $200–$650

  • Bay: $480–$1,920

Because egress windows are meant for emergency exiting and entering, they need to be an accessible size. The smallest an egress window is allowed to be is 15 inches in width and height, with an opening of around 4 square feet.
