"Allstate paving did a great job. Our driveway looks great. Richard is great to deal with. They came out when they said they would and got right to it. Great service and the guys know their stuff. Gerardo was super helpful and finished the job up well. We would recommend Richard and his crew to anyone!"
"Super responsive. I got service two weeks early! Driveway looks great! Fair up front pricing and friendly service. Will definitely go with Ameripave again!"
"If you’re considering a driveway upgrade, let me save you some time and stress: PaveOH is your golden ticket. These asphalt artisans took my sad, cracked, and weather-beaten driveway and turned it into a smooth, sleek runway that even the most discerning of jets would envy. From the moment PaveOH rolled up with their equipment, it was clear they weren’t just any ordinary paving crew. Their team worked with such efficiency and finesse that I almost expected them to break into a synchronized dance routine while laying down asphalt. They were like the rock stars of the paving world—if rock stars wore hard hats and wielded trowels. Their professionalism was so spot-on that I began to think of them as the asphalt whisperers. They communicated every step of the process with such clarity and precision that I felt like I was in a master class on driveway perfection. If there were a “best driveway” award, mine would already have a trophy—probably engraved with PaveOH’s name. And let’s talk about the finished product: my driveway is now smoother than a freshly ironed dress shirt. It’s so flawless that I’m considering hosting driveway picnics just to show it off. I might even start a fan club for it, with PaveOH as the guest of honor. In short, PaveOH didn’t just pave my driveway; they paved the way for driveway excellence. If you want a result so good it makes you want to do a victory lap on your own asphalt, these are the folks to call. Your driveway—and your neighbors—will thank you."

"Chris and his crew did a stellar job, going above and beyond in service, and improving my property beyond expectations. They completed the job on time and on budget, and Chris stayed in contact with me throughout the process. I highly recommend Chris and will use their services for any concrete work in future."
"After two fairly severe winters, we had some settling of the hardscapes that Friebel's Quality Landscaping had installed (see earlier review for the original project). We were very pleased by the original installation, but the real test of a contractor is how he stands behind his work. Jeff (the owner) came out to take a look at the settling in March while it was still quite cold. As soon as it had warmed up, he had a crew out to fix the hardscape which is now as good as new. Great original install, great warranty service. "
"DLG, by far, has been one of the best companies Iâ ve used in construction and restoration of my historic Westerville home. Danny is meticulous in his work and we get consistent compliments from people passing by."
"I had originally talked with Ron Diersing about an estimate for a driveway replacement in the fall of 2010. He quoted a price that I thought was fair and set a date for the work to be done. For a number of reasons, I decided to postpone the project until spring 2011, but still wanted to use Stamp and Concrete Masters to do the job. I originally was only going to have the driveway replaced, but I added the project of having a wheelchair ramp removed, concrete poured where the ramp had been to make a small patio, and steps installed to run from the deck to the new patio area. Ron was very understanding about everything, gave me a very fair estimate for the additional work, and we set the date to begin work on 4/19/11. Because rain was expected on 4/19 and on 4/20, Ron called early on 4/19 and indicated that he thought he and his crew should delay the removal of my old driveway and ramp, plus concrete framing and other preparatory work to 4/20, and pour the new concrete driveway on 4/21 (4/21/11 was the only non-rainy day the whole week!). The driveway was completed by 1:30 PM on 4/21. Ron returned that evening to do some additional work on the driveway. On 4/22/11, Ron installed steps from the deck to the new patio area and ran new wiring as needed to get the pet electronic fence working. Ron recommends sealing the driveway at least 30 days after installation, but prior to winter, which I will be asking him to do in the near future. "
"I have small front lawn. I just started using them this past summer because I was unhappy with my prior lawn service. They came in with a competitive price. They have done reasonably well. Their work is reliable."
"Pave-Co prepped and paved my large driveway in 2 days. They were very considerate, doing half the driveway one day and finishing the next, so I was able to drive on the driveway and get into my garage. I am very satisfied with the quality of their work."
Yes, you should lightly wet the sand with a hose before laying the pavers on top. This activates the bonding agents in the sand, ensuring that your pavers don’t shift around during the installation process. However, you should make sure that the sand is not soaked; overwatering can cause the sand and pavers to not set properly.
You can pour concrete over asphalt if it’s in good condition, thick, stable, and well-compacted. Concrete is more durable than asphalt and can extend the lifetime of your driveway without having to pay frequent asphalt driveway repair costs or replace it completely.
But this is best reserved as a temporary solution based on budget restraints, as asphalt requires more frequent repairs and assessments than concrete. Once that concrete top is poured, it’ll be harder to accurately understand what’s happening beneath that layer, which could lead to more issues.
In most cases, driveway repair is worth the investment. Your driveway is one of the first things people see when they look at your home, so repairing cracks, chips, and potholes can improve your home’s curb appeal and overall value. Repairing your driveway is also almost always more affordable than replacing it entirely—an average of $1,765 compared to the cost of replacing a driveway, which typically costs around $5,000.
After removing existing moss, consider using paver blocking sand to fill the joints. This specialty material hardens once placed and serves as an effective barrier against moss and weeds. From there on, regularly clean your pavers and try to keep them dry. You can also seal your paver as a semi-permanent solution — just make sure you reseal every 3 to 5 years.
The material that’s best for your private road depends on your property, the climate in your area, and your personal preferences. Gravel is an affordable option, but some homeowners don’t like how it looks. It can be a pain to remove snow from, and it requires more ongoing maintenance than asphalt or concrete. However, while these other options require less maintenance and make snow removal a breeze, they’re more expensive and will need repairs from time to time. Ultimately, you’ll have to choose the road material that suits you and your property best.
