"They were extremely responsive from the get go and gave me a quote after a brief phone call. After booking, I had a few questions that were answered very transparently. We used the move out cleaning, window and blind cleaning, and carpet cleaning services. After the services were done, the house looked phenomenal! Highly recommend!"

Small jobs welcome

"Chris did a complete inspection of our gutters as he was cleaning them. He also took before and after pictures of our gutters. As he was running water to test the flow of our downspouts he discovered we had a crack in the downspout coming down from the main roof to our porch gutters. He also became aware that the gutter that ran under ground from our house out to our sidewalk was being blocked. Which would cause the water to back up & force the water to over flow the gutters on the main roof. He then took the time to help us clear the blockage as much as he could. I can not thank him enough for the complete job he did for us. He did more for us than what the actual job needed in making sure that water would flow out to our sidewalk away from our house correctly. Chris is going to be the first company I am going to recommend to my friends & neighbors for when they have jobs that need done around the house. He's also recommending someone to replace the cracked piece of downspout."

Small jobs welcome

"Will use Harrington Pro-Clean again. Job was to clean windows on a small Cape style house. The cost was the minimum, $275. Windows were perfectly clean. I thought he was done, but he said he should do more as it was such a quick job. So he power washed the front walk. Just 'cuz."

Sonic Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Long-handled telescopic brushes are the best way to clean the outside of a house without a pressure washer. There are even special attachments for cleaning the outside of windows. Use a gentle cleaning solution for both the roof and siding to avoid harming the finishes. Be sure to rinse the area thoroughly with a garden hose after scrubbing.

It generally involves soft washing with eco-friendly detergents to remove contaminants, avoiding high-pressure methods that can damage materials.

If you’re painting your home or monitoring a job as it’s being completed, squash the issue ASAP if you notice paint is getting onto the roof. Keeping it clean is one of the keys to extending your roof’s life.

Removing latex paint before it dries is much easier and lowers the risk of damaging your shingles (more on that below). Simply spray the spot with a hose for one to two minutes to clear away the drying paint. In general, this is a good way to remove ugly stains from your roof without using chemicals.

There are several telltale signs that your roof needs to be professionally cleaned. It's best to hire a professional as soon as you notice any indicators of wear to preserve your roof's longevity. Key signs to look for include:

  • Moss, Algae, or Plant Growth: Look for moss growth, black streaks (which are often a type of black algae), or any other plant life on your roof's surface.

  • Dirt and Grime Buildup: A general layer of dirt and grime can accumulate over time.

  • Leaf Buildup: An accumulation of leaves, especially in the gutters, is a clear sign.

  • Buildup Under Shingles: Dirt and debris can get trapped under the edges of your shingles.

  • Shifting Roof Shingles: While this can indicate other problems, it can also be a sign that cleaning and maintenance are overdue.

  • Comparison to Neighbors: If your roof appears significantly dirtier or different from your neighbors' roofs, that’s another sign it may be time for a cleaning.

Generally, snow removal from a roof should occur once over six inches of snow accumulates, especially if you notice that ice dams have formed. Without ice dams, you can let the snow accumulation hit 12 inches before removing it. However, the amount of snow that is too much for your roof also depends on the sturdiness of your roof and the compactness of the snow. If your roof needs maintenance or has structural issues, it’s best not to let the snow accumulate too much for fear of collapsing.
