"Excellent experience. I had Ashiatsu bars installed. These bars have to be installed with the utmost precision according to the users body specs as well as table to floor specs, so I was a little nervous, no actually I was REALLY nervous about them getting it right, but these guys followed the blueprints exactly as described and only took about 4 hrs to complete and they're perfect! Also, the price quoted over the phone was exactly the price I paid. No surprises. I will definitely have them back for other projects in the future. ð"

The vast majority of hinges are symmetrical, and either side of the hinge can go on the door or the frame. Occasionally, you'll find a hinge specifically made for right or left-handed doors with different attachment hardware or larger plates on one side. It is possible to install hinges backward, so be careful when placing them. Position the hinge so that the hinge pin faces the direction the door will swing. For example, if you're standing on the side the door will open into, the pin should be visible. Be extra careful when installing exterior doors, as placing the hinges on the outside for an outward-facing door makes your home much easier to break into.

To achieve the correct opening size for a 30-inch door, add 2 inches to the door width and 2 ½ inches to the door height. For example, if you have a 30-inch-wide door with an 80-inch height, then the rough opening would measure 32 inches wide by 82 1/2 inches high

While not strictly required, it is highly recommended to shim both sides of a door. Shimming both sides allows you to make minor adjustments for wall framing that isn't perfectly plumb, ensuring the door is level and hangs evenly. This practice helps the door swing open and close smoothly, reduces the chances of the frame warping, and can be used to center the door within the wall opening. If you are working alone, you may find it easier to remove the door slab to lighten the weight while supporting the frame and inserting the shims. With two people, the process is generally faster and easier, whether the slab is left in place or not.

If a sofa doesn’t fit through the door, try angling it to maneuver it through. You’d be surprised at how often this works. Next, remove the legs and cushions and try again. If that doesn’t work, consider an alternate entry point like a window or a back door. When all else fails, contact a pro.
